Interesting twist on the spiral! Can't wait to try a new script! Getting bore with some of the ones I have.
Thanks!!!

Beautiful translucence in this piece--like the pastel colors, and the contrasting shapes in the spiral!
I downloaded the script, and have been getting some amazing results with it...you can be sure I'll post a few of the best to Apophysis

Wow, that is awesome. I'm still not so good at scripts. I love all the tiny little outside spirals.

Thanks so much for sharing it - I'll let you know if something good comes out of it!

thanks a lot! liked the outcome too.. was rather random though

I just realized that when I went to play with Apophysis.

Tell me something though.... when do you usually apply this script? Is it when you find a good image or do you run it on a random batch? I was playing with it but when I went to try and fine tune the flame I saw a whole whack of triangles. Holy cow! Where do you start?

most of my posts using this script are done with a random batch.. just to show what its capable off..
but of course its good to start with a nice setting.. because afterwards you dont have any chance to modify it cause of the many triangles.. so i apply it after i have found a nice setting.. maybe i even run the spiralize script before running my script.. depends on what i want to do..

glad you could get some results! note me if you should submitt some so i can check
you are pat from the apo maillist right?

patrx In reply to muetze [2004-06-17 15:23:04 +0000 UTC]

Yup, that's me on the maillist.... I have to figure a way to keep track of what I do on the flames...I usually go through a render and save the parameters of stuff that looks of interest and then go back later to play around with them. And, I can't remember which ones I did with your script...drat!

muetze In reply to patrx [2004-06-18 07:34:05 +0000 UTC]

hehe now thats a pitty.. but doesnt matter

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

patrx In reply to muetze [2004-06-18 13:45:08 +0000 UTC]

I have an idea that I'll save the parameters to different folders in the future which might narrow things down.. Come to think of it, I think your parameters had an "s" prefix...will have to check my pix out to see if I rendered some...

indeed they have! sorry but i totally forgot about that! makes it a bit easier

patrx In reply to muetze [2004-06-19 20:18:43 +0000 UTC]

An update of yesterday's note:
I brought up your script and did a bit of creative editing... Where the script assigns the "s-" to the name, I added the letter "m" after the "s" to differentiate your "spiral batch" from the other batch files. I did the same for *batoruco 's ''rotational batch script'' by adding a "b". That should make them easier to keep separate in the files...

very clever thought! ill have a look for that next time! thanks

patrx In reply to muetze [2004-06-20 13:43:26 +0000 UTC]

The line in question is 'line 39' when I brought the script up in the 'editor'....and I just added the "M" following the 's' in the line that names the flames...

* Flame.Name := 's-' + Flame.Name; *

Then, I just saved the change... I don't know where or if I should post this...what do you think?

muetze In reply to patrx [2004-06-21 07:59:53 +0000 UTC]

i dont think that this is necessary hehe!

ill just keep it in mind for future script submissions..

again thanks a lot for the help

I noticed when I used a combo of your script and Batoruco's that both get noted when I run them now...which gives me an idea what I did while rendering...as to which scripts...

muetze In reply to patrx [2004-06-22 13:42:56 +0000 UTC]

both of em on one picture? must have been quite a load of triangles
you really seem to be experimenting

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

patrx In reply to muetze [2004-06-22 15:11:57 +0000 UTC]

Yup.... I haven't done much when it comes to moving the triangles manually, but I've tried that a few times with nothing of interest... It's interesting what happens when one combines scripts...sometimes it works, sometimes it is a big blur...but, it's fun anyway... It keeps me out of mischief..LOL

muetze In reply to patrx [2004-06-28 14:31:24 +0000 UTC]

i sometimes run 4 or 5 scripts after another.. gets me quite interesting results..

i only use the triangles before using scripts... afterwards there are mostly 30+ triangles which makes it difficult to alter them without ruining the image..

patrx In reply to muetze [2004-06-28 15:08:47 +0000 UTC]

I'll have to try that...thanks for the hint. I wish it was easier to access the scripts at times. Like a little 'check box' on the toolbar instead of having to go to the folder each time and openning the next one to be used..

I just went through all of my parameter files...guess I saved about a half dozen for later rendering...but I did post one of them...it was my "Shy Swans" [link]

patrx In reply to muetze [2004-06-18 17:17:33 +0000 UTC]

I just thought about that this morning when I read your note. I'll have to go back through the render and parameter files to see how many of them start with the "s".... It would be nice if I could ''index'' all of those that I saved into the 'lump' files. I should start new parameter files more often to keep the size down for searching... I think I've saved so many, I don't know if I'll ever get back to them....having too much fun making more....LOL..
