Description
This is my entry titled "Inspire Magic" for the Billy Blue Change Your World contest. It includes a photograph and image affects taken and created by me.

Reflective Statement
This work titled Inspire Magic is a representation oh how I wish to change my world by inspiring magic through creativity. I wanted to create a work that included elements of nature (flowers/garden) with creative utensils (pencils) and combine those in a fun and light hearted way (also including Photoshop modification to enhance the desired affect).

The idea is that you can change your world in a creative way by taking what is around you, seeing that beauty and transforming it into a magical world of your own.

The work has both elements of darkness and colour. The base is dry, not green and luscious, it is sticks and bark and the pencils and flowers are emerging from that into rich and vibrant representations of imagination and hope. The background is also dark, with bark positioned to frame the elements together.

I want this work to be a reminder to myself and hopefully other people that you can inspire magic within yourself, even when sometimes things might seem impossible or hard.

In another entry included for this competition I created an artwork that was quite dark and hoped to show how I wanted to change my world through being able to use art as a way to express instead of escape. I feel like I was able to do that through this, and hope I can continue to do that.
