Fahrenheit 451 was a good book to read but a horrible book to do projects on. >3>

uh uh. editted this a bit. i just couldn't really stand the strangely shaded legs.
also changed the umbrella a bit.
i am going to be entering this pic in an art contest, i don't think i will even stand a chance though lol.

I love this! The muted colors and the paintery style is just awesome. I haven't read the book, but I do love what you've done here; it looks so realistic. And you're in the 7th grade!

When you paint like this, do you use the smudge tool mostly, or something else?

I never use the smudge tool actually. xD
It makes photoshop lag soo much!
I just use a hard brush at fairly low opacities. (However when I am doing skin I sometimes lower the hardness a bit)
Sometimes I change the flow a bit but I don't usually mess with it.
