Description
Another nice lovely sketched ruined by me practicing on it xD hahaI'm extremely messy with the outlines and there must be an easier way to coloring than first carefully colouring all the way around the 'lineart' (if you want to even call it that) haha
Really struggling with using SAI, if anyone knows some really great tutorials or anything that will shed some light on this digital stuff, that would be great

Cute expression, buuut... her wings are missing. Maybe that's why she's shocked, tried to flap and nothing happened.

If there is no gap in your lines you can use e.g. magic wand selection tool.
If you drew a shape of the object with solid color and want to stay in outlines during making shading and other things you can use the preserve opacity or clipping group option for target layer or layer above respectively.
Or use eraser tool a lot to correct the lineart - I used this way in my last submission of the comic.
You can also add linework layer to play with simplified vector tools.
Maybe from this list www.youtube.com/playlist?list=…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5x3ps…
and
www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Je3i…
for beginning.
I don't now if my advices are usefull for you if you don't give me feedback.

your advice sure is useful! I have been using the clipping tool you mentioned and boy has it been a blessing!
Right at this moment i don't really work with lineart atm but instead I'm going with a more traditional painting route, it just seems to work better for me for now
The links you send me also did help, so thanks for putting in the effort to help me out with this digital art really appreciate it

Hehe I love that one little tiny strand of hair from her top mane ^_^ oh my gosh so cute!! Lovely expression too.. hehe the shock of horror in her eyes and gaping mouth is very unnerving for Fluttershy, it looks as if she saw one of her animal friends gorge itself on another one of her animal friends and now.. oh my XD hehe y'know. nature and all.. But then again, after the comic book I think she's alright with that sorta stuff anyways, I dunno.. Great art, great colourign too ^_^

It still takes me quite a lot of time to finish each piece. Sometimes I get jealous when some artist does a speedpaint in like 30mins and produces something way better than I can But it's important not to compare yourself I think.

Why does this image cause my fist to tighten up?
I need to calm down and wait to see what causes Shy to be shocked.
Thanks for sharing this beauty.

Hehe, I seem to have a problem with outlines as well- yours look great in comparison, though. I love her expression, too.
I'm not sure if they'd help you very much, but I did some digging and found a couple of tutorials- here's one on coloring irises, a very neat and simple way to add definition to hair, an all-around walk-through on drawing ponies in Sai, and a huge pile of miscellaneous guides that you may or may not find helpful.
