Description
Your Tokota must learn to cope with the loss of something close to them; be it a prized possession or a friend/loved one.Though the bear cubs had been a very welcomed distraction, for once getting Illi's mind off of her overdue meeting with her long lost son, Buck, she couldn't deny that he still weighed somewhat heavily upon her mind. The strange thing was that it seemed like each day that passed she thought of him less and less. Really she hadn't even had much time to even mull over the meeting they had, it was just a very short time after that that the cubs entered into her life. Currently the cubs were off on a hunt with Jerry and Iki and Illi had a few moments to herself. She really hadn't had much time to herself lately and now as she lay down alone in the grass surrounded by the tall trees of the wooded forest her mind began to drift back to that moment.
Thinking of it now she remembered her surprise at seeing Buck slowly making her way toward him. Unbeknownst to her then little did she know that Buck had been tracking her for some time. It was ever since Jerry and she had managed to track him down the last time. Oddly enough he still didn't know who she was even as he made his way over to her. He only knew that there was something about her that drew him to her, a distant memory, a dream. Illi remembered her surprise at seeing her son walking straight toward her, in the past it had always been her that had chased after him and now there he was right before her eyes. When he got just a couple of feet away from her he stopped in his tracks and just stared back her. By the look on his face Illi couldn't tell if he knew exactly who she was or not. Finally, breaking the silence, Buck spoke up. "Who are you?" Buck questioned. Thinking on it now Illi remembered her surprise, her shock, and realizing that Buck had forgotten them, forgotten her. All this time she never took in the possibility that Buck might not even remember who she was. No wonder he was always running away when she got close him. Shaking the surprise from her face, she finally responded. "My name is Illi. I'm your mother.." Illi again remembered his face and how unreadable it was. For a long time he again just stared at her, and Illi wished so bad that she knew what he was thinking. What she didn't know was that Buck was slowly regaining some of his pup hood memories, he couldn't remember everything but he was remembering her. After another long while, Buck finally began to turn away and head back where he came from. During this whole time Illi had barely whispered a word, unsure of what to say. As soon as Buck began to turn away the words suddenly came to her. "Wait!" Illi barked out aloud. Slowly turning his head, Buck stared back at her. "Please, come back home with me, with your family. It's where you belong." Illi knew her eyes said it all, she was pleading with all she had left. Buck's eyes slowly looked down, his mind began contemplating this new offer, as suddenly as he began to consider it, he also began thinking on his life now. He might've been lonely at times, and he also couldn't deny that he was drawn to the white Tokota Illi, his mother, but there was also a reason why he left the first time. He grew up in the wild, and enjoyed his life of freedom. Looking back at Illi he slowly shook his head and finally spoke up. "I am home." Illi still couldn't forgot those words, thinking back on it now it brought her a strange comfort and helped her understand a bit more about the enigma that was Buck.
Suddenly another distant memory flashed across her mind. It was one when Buck was just a pup, and one of the last ones she had of him before he left. She remembered even then the distance between the young Buck and herself. At the time she would've never dreamt of him leaving like he did, but thinking back on it now she now noticed the aloofness about him that she hadn't really realized before. She knew now, that even back then, he was never really "there" with her. He had truly been born to be wild. Slowly shaking the memory from her head Illi was glad to now have some sort of explanation of his departure, a small bit if closure. Before she had time to think on it any longer she suddenly heard the distant sound of small grunts and barks. Recognizing the sound almost immediately, a small smile spread across her face. Lifting herself up off the ground Illi made her way out of the woods. Looking up ahead she saw the very familiar shapes of Jerry and Iki. Behind them waddled Bongo and Moose, weary from a long day of hunting lessons. Even from where she was standing Illi could tell they were sleepy and probably ready for their afternoon nap. She wasn't sure why but watching the two sleepy bear cubs sent a huge wave of happiness over her, one she couldn't explain. She was glad that they were in her life, she felt a sense of purpose again one she felt like she lost after Buck left. In that sudden moment she felt complete.
WOOOoo Illi's last PotA image!! XD
Had a lot of fun with this one, and I was so happy to finally have been able to draw Wild Buck 15320 !! Buck and Illi's story isn't over yet, but with this Illi is finally able to move on. Also this story completes/finishes what happened after this story~
