Description
This is my design for a character a friend will be using in a comic. He is based on the Azure dragon of Chinese mythology. The trouble is, I have no idea what to do for the background. And the scanner washed out some of the colors. Much more green in his face and his mane, and his eyes are slightly yellow.Whatcha think?

I enjoy. Did you use pastels? Scanners are a pain like that; colour wash is annoying. However, it's still very rich. It reminds me a little bit of the design of Carbuncle, from Final Fantasy

Nope, I used my sister's beautiful set of prismacolors. He's light partly because of the jerk scanner and partly because I went really light with the coloring.
I can see the carbuncle now that you mention it. I won't mention it to the guy I designed him for. He might not think that's as funny as I do.
