Description
Drawn by FellFallow
and coloured by me.
I commissioned her to draw 4 of my alien creatures for my game. This is the first one. I'm so happy with it
Creature Characteristics:
-They are considered their own kind of animal in taxonomy
-Are capable of high speeds but are usually very lazy and tend to lumber around
-Are capable of climbing trees but are usually too lazy to do so unless there's an especially tasty treat like honey nearby
-Females are slightly smaller than males, contain no horns or colourful noses.
-There are many species of this taxonomy. They come in a range of colours, different tails and different horns and different nose shapes.
-They tend to live solo except during the breeding season and the males do not usually stick around to help raise kids
-Males use their horns to fight with other males over females. The blue noses attract potential mates, the more vibrant and the bigger are more desirable traits.
-The males can make a variety of unique and interesting sounds using their blue noses, which are hollow inside.
-They are omnivores, with 60% of their diet consisting of plant material and the other 40% protein sources, including hunting large and small animals, as well as bugs. They eat a lot of fruit and berries and certain types of leaves that they like. They will even rip bark off of trees with their large fangs and gnaw on it. They spend the majority of their days foraging for food. They tend to hunt more when easy food is more scarce.
-1 can take up a huge range of territory that extends for miles but they tend to wander. They usually stay away from each other except during the mating season. Males can be considered dangerous to young cubs.
-Are not very fearful of humans and tend to raid their camps and eat their food. They are so lazy when it comes to food that they will always get it from the easiest source, even if it's from humans.
-Sounds include a mix of roars like large cats, grunts, and horn-like sounds which can ascend from their rounded noses.
-Sometimes stand on two feet to reach leaves or berries but they are very top heavy and can't stand for long periods of time. They will sometimes stand on their hind legs to look over bushes when they hear something.
-Their sense of smell is the best sense they have, able to smell food from miles away.
-Often rub their horns against trees to sharpen them. It's pretty easy to tell if one of these has been in a territory since there is destruction everywhere. Tree bark ripped apart, big areas of flattened grass and claw marks on rocks. They are not exactly quiet and are not afraid of letting others know they're in the area.
-Have a bear-like behaviour but are a bit more agile like cats and like to groom themselves as well. Then again they will also graze like horses.
