Twilight and her friends as Wings Of Fire dragons. With slightly inaccurate colours...

Twilight is a nightwing. She was easiest. Also I think Twilight should be an animus Nightwing, it would explain her rise to to royalty as well as her magical abilities. She can't see the future though or read minds. Twilight is very concerned about losing her soul and sometimes does get a little stressed out and crazy where she assumes she's lost her soul for good but it always turns out to be a false alarm, as Twilight takes every step to minimize losing her soul, she divided her power into the "Elements of Harmony" and each of her friends has one. That way if one element gets stolen, they still have all the rest to get it back.

Rarity is an Icewing, Nightwing hybrid, which is why she is a "rarity." Rarity lives in the Ice Kingdom and finds it super plain. She's always trying to dazzle it up with her creations, although a lot of other dragons don't see the point in any of it. Rarity often fantasizes about being a Rainwing because they are so beautiful.

Pinkie Pie is a rainwing cause she wears her heart on her sleeve, and her intelligence is often underestimated. She lives in the jungle with the other Rainwings, just as happy and outgoing as other Rainwings, but not nearly as forgetful. She ALWAYS remembers her friends and their birthdays and is always looking for another reason to celebrate.

Rainbow Dash is a skywing. Her colours are very inaccurate of skywings but personality wise, she is tough and the fastest flyer. She is part of the elite flyers and guards within the Skywing Palace. She's won many awards and is a great bodyguard. She is very loyal to her queen but even more loyal to her friends.

Applejack I debated whether to make her a mudwing or sandwing and ended up choosing a sandwing because sandwings would need to be good farmers to know how to grow stuff in the desertm plus they have a very community like and active culture. Also sometimes considered uncivilized since many are rogues. I can also visualize Applejack knowing how to use her tail well. Applejack owns a cactus farm for healing dragons who have been injured with each other's venomous tails. She knows all about many types of cactus and how to grow them in the scorching heat. She's very hardworking and has a large family and likes to join town events. She lives with the rogues.

Finally, Fluttershy was the hardest. She seems that, personality and ability wise she didn't fit with any dragon group. I wanted to make her a rainwing because of her love of animals, but couldnt imagine her being the same species as Pinkie, plus she is very serious and shy for a rainwing... So I considered skywing next, since if she is the same species as anyone it should be Rainbow Dash. But that seemed out of personality and ability as well, cause she is shy and sucks at flying. I ended up making her a seawing because they go into hiding underwater, where they dont have to "talk" to each other, can choose to stay hidden by not lighting up their scales, and are the slowest flyers out of all species. And there was that one comic where Fluttershy made friends with a fish...Okay I admit it's not a perfect match, and probably the poorest out of all of them, but I tried. Fluttershy lives outside of the Sea Kingdom, isolated in the Coral Reef. She has many sea creature friends that she talks to by flashing her scales at them and she can read their body language and know what they're saying. She is scared of coming on land but once she found out there were other animals besides sea creatures out there, she's never gone back.

Also, sizes are not to scale...I'm just not consistent with drawing the same sizes...obviously...

Now I just need to make the Dragonets of Destiny into ponies and we'll be all good
