Description
So I bought a new desktop computer recently. The laptop I've been using has been upgraded multiple times over the years (it's at least 6 years old) but it finally ran out of storage. This thing is a monster compared to my laptop, I threw most of my money at storage so I don't have to keep using harddrives for all my RAW photos. The monitor is actually Graham's, he gave it to me because when I was searching up colour accurate monitors, it was literally the best one in my price range when it came to colour accuracy, and surprise, my husband somehow already had it. So he gave it to me and he's going to buy a new one for himself with a faster refresh rate. He also gave me one of his keyboards. My husband has built computers ever since he was a kid so he also built this one for me. He let me pick things though like the colour of the fans and what my case looks like and stuff. I'm only uploading this because Deviantart is asking people for a picture of their workspaces:How Does Your Workspace Look?Ongoing efforts to flatten the curve for the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) have led to a shift in how work is done for many people. The DeviantArt team has been working from home for nearly a month, which in many ways has been seamless, but in a couple other ways, it’s been a learning experience. The necessary isolation puts into perspective how important it is to be connected with each other. Practicing social distancing is a must right now, but keeping in touch remains an important part of staying healthy. One way we’re trying to solve that is by sharing photos of our physical space with one another online. We’d like to hear from you in the comments on this journal:Take a photo of your creative space and post it!Tell us what you like most about your setup, and how you use it to stay connected. Here’s what some DeviantArt staff members’ workspaces look like:“My workspace is part office, part Wonder Woman shrine, and part daycare. :D” - @Moonbeam13 “Working from home for the past 10 years has taught me a couple of things: always have candy within arms reach, keep a good book (be it for sketching or reading) at hand, and always make room for your furry friends to keep you company.” - @Ikue "The kitchen has become my new office - the only challenge being at the mercy of others coming in and looking for a snack." - @ggMattB “This is my space! It’s cozy and gets the job done, plus there’s lots of light and that's always nice!” - @HistoryMystery “I've converted my sewing nook into a home office... but there's still room for my sewing machine and fabric cutting boards. My cat continues to inspire me, whether by hopping up on my keyboard during meetings or looking down at me from DeviantArt's 2012 April Fool's joke poster, where he posed as inspiration for a Cat Dictator.” - @LaurenKitsune “Here’s my workspace. It’s not this tidy most of the time. :)” - @justgalym “This is my work station in quarantine, taking over my wife's home station...” - @Tomergr “I just finished setting up my workstation today!” - @nicolikai "Being surrounded by books and a window to look out of helps me find relaxation during work!" - @aunjuli “My office space is small, it required creative thinking to combine storage plus a new at home work space. Removing the shelving doors on the right hand side of my storage unit was the perfect fit for my home monitor, my work laptop sits on a high chair to alternate from sitting to standing. So far it's working!” - @PktPictures "Spare guest room, some toys, and a desk - and Boom! New work area. I got my Deadpool and Vader plushies to keep me company."- @haimleb “This is my office. Well, it's mostly my dog with a little bit of my office in the background.” - @petralfire “My fiancé and I have been trading off who gets the office for the day. Today, I have taken over my dining room area, encroaching on my cats' space. I love working in this area since I get a great view of the street and lots of natural light :)” - @humblehills "This is my office for now. The cat doesn't feel like he's a property owner anymore." - @Tiorion-ua We’d like to hear from you in the comments on this journal:Take a photo of your creative space and post it!Tell us what you like most about your setup, and how you use it to stay connected.Current circumstances require unusual adaptations of all kinds, but one certainty we can always provide each other is support. If you are struggling mentally or emotionally, please know that you’re not alone. Be safe and stay well, and keep reaching out to one another. Leave a comment about how you’re doing, or if you have time and energy to do so, leave a reply for someone who could use some support.
If you're wondering what happened to that one wolf picture, beside my computer there's actually a bird cage and sometimes I let the bird out and sometimes it destroys things when I'm not looking and it kind of ate that wolf picture. *Shrug* The pictures are just an old calendar I cut out and posted to the walls using sticky tack.
Eventually, once stores are open again and this whole Covid19 passes, I'm going to buy a keyboard because I hate this one, but I don't like ordering keyboards online if I can't actually type on them and see if I like them so for the time being this one is good enough.

Eww no. Lol I hate Macs, that was all we worked on in college and they SUCKED. They're also way overpriced and you can't build and customize them like you can PC. My husband builds computers and any computer he has built has been better than any Mac I've used.

I know it’s a trend to hate Apple, mostly because apple is the most successful company ever and many people want to belong somewhere, but their success one time after the other is not just pure randomness. (I’m talking mostly about the Steve Jobs era)

Well apple now is awful but in steve jobs era you gotta respect some things. The biggest problem with PC is Windows. I hate windows (and especially Windows 10). They are clunky and amateur to my eye. They are full of bugs and very unstable. To run a PC the way you want you’ve to work with it all day. Some people do this as a hobby, but some others, like me, just don’t have time for drivers, updates, settings, programs, troubleshooting etc. These days is super easy to build a PC but for professional use i would go with an iMac back in 2010.
