I found it hard to find train parts. It'd be nice if you could dig them up like in PH... (I keep running out of Demon Fossils. I know they should appear as often as the other ones but they don't)

Yeah, it was surprisingly hard to get train parts, but it was also an interesting challenge. I have a hard time getting Demon Fossils too; supposedly the rarity of specific items was different for each game.

I found it's easiest to go to whittleton and blow all the leaves, sometimes you get those treasures. Also you can sometimes buy them from the whittleton shop...

Yeah, they're officially called Bullbos. I personally don't think they're related to the Twilight Princess ones, since it was said in an interview that TP and WW/PH/ST take place on different timelines. There were a lot of references to TP enemies in ST, though.

Having only just bought the game today, (yes, I know I'm way behind the times) I can't say I like the boar too much. The first time I encountered them, they caused my first train death.

There'll be other enemies that are much more annoying, believe me. 
I can't say I like the entire train mechanic too much, but the whole game is so good (particularly the latter half) that overall the travel didn't bother me enough to lessen my appreciation for the game.

I'm halfway thru the Ice dungeon. I agree about the train mechanics. I like it, but it's a bit slow when compared to the boats from the previous titles. Not to mention that the train's a lot more fragile and harder to control. But I certainly would hope to see more of the trains in the future. There's potential.

I think the train does have several things going for it, and the controls were good--they did require more attention than the boat, and the enemies were tougher than the ones I remember from the Great Sea, but at least it kept you occupied. (Though I did miss the freedom of being able to direct the boat anywhere.) My main problem was that it was tedious to use the train as the sole form of travel because controlling it became repetitive and monotonous once you got the hang of it. I wouldn't want to see it return as the only way to get around, but I could imagine future Zeldas with some fun sidequest missions involving trains, especially if there were plenty of varied mission objectives.

And yes, you'd think people would have more of a problem with trains that look like huge dragons or evil skulls, considering that Twilight Princess's guards would get freaked out at the mere sight of a wolf. Perhaps the Great Flood left Wind Waker's Hylians somewhat hardier than their opposite-timeline counterparts.
