Description Happy tenth anniversary, Ocarina of Time!

...I'm not that late with this tribute.  The European anniversary is December 11. Granted, I didn't live in Europe when this first came out, and I didn't know it had a different release date until two days ago, but it's still a valid excuse for being a month late to the celebration.

I should now post some lengthy nostalgic story about the day I got this game, except I actually don't remember it. I somehow took the game's presence for granted during my childhood.

I love Kokiri Forest. Returning there always feels like coming home.

2014 EDIT: sometimes I think about deleting this but then I look at that kid and the deku baba

Thanks so much! Heh, I'm glad you like my tree. ^^ I love wise old tree characters. :3

*cries* such good memories of Kokiri forest. For the first three years that I knew of the game, I didn't make it as far as leaving ^^". And I love the picture! Wish there were more Kokiri in it though, the grass seems a little empty.

Oh yes, the memories of Kokiri Forest... somehow it always feels like home. :3 Hehe, I made it out of the forest quickly enough (I was incredibly proud of myself for beating Gohma), but then I didn't get anywhere for a while because I spent most of my time wandering around Hyrule Field and playing minigames in town. I always let the Dodongos in Dodongo's Cavern kill me. XD;

Good point about the grass seeming empty, though. That bothered me a little too. Thanks for mentioning it. :3

...Beautiful. <3 It's awesome to see some new art from you, and you're still improving so much. I love the composition -- the angle the tree is seen at, for example, and I'm really liking the shading on the canopy and the shiny little... er... fairy... things. Sorry, my video game knowledge is a lukewarm 2% of the average human being's. D:

Thank you so much--I'm glad you like it. ^_^ I was rather pleased with how the shading on the canopy came out, so I'm glad you noticed. ^^ Don't worry, those are indeed fairies. All the kids in the forest have a guardian fairy that follows them around everywhere, but apparently some of the ones in this picture are being drawn to the ocarina music. :3

Nice detail on this picture.

Bring on the good times! I recently finished an old playthrough of OoT MQ a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks! Yeah, I love this game no matter how many times I pick it up. I've never played the Master Quest version, although I'm curious how difficult the rearranged dungeons would be for me. It seems that the changes mostly trip up the veterans who are used to playing the original OoT.

Also, I want to see cows in Jabu-Jabu's Belly.

MQ is the same as OoT.

From Wikipedia:

The Ocarina of Time: Master Quest box contains a single disc which includes the original game, the Master Quest version, and six video demos for various games for the GameCube including one for The Wind Waker and a video demo of the GBA re-release of A Link to the Past. Master Quest uses the same engine and plot of Ocarina of Time, but dungeons have been rearranged.

Heck no it's not! I've played it! The story's the same, sure, but the levels are completely different! I /barely/ got to Dodongo's Cavern on MQ, and then I got stuck! Haven't played it in ages though, if I played it now I might be able to get the right key... Maybe not though, who knows.

You've played it, but didn't even beat it?

They are the same. OoT is OoT.

Are you sure you played Master Quest? I remember one SERIOUSLY IRRITATING thing in Dodongo's Cavern was that stupid Beamos right in the middle of the first cave - it's not in there in straight OoT.

(I haven't yet beaten OoT... I'm on the last temple, and then I have to fight Ganondorf... I just haven't made time. Every time I think about not having anything to play in the game I start to get sad... Heh...)

Ooh, this is awesome! A very fitting tribute. :3

Since you can't remember any nostalgia, I'll share! My next-door neighbors had it, and one day I got curious and asked to play it, and I was so hooked that I convinced their mom to buy me the strategy guide as payment for babysitting them even though I didn't actually own the game. 8D

Thank you!

Haha, that reminds me of how I used to read strategy guides for fun even if I didn't own the games. It was almost like playing the game myself. However, I usually hated to read guides for a game I was playing for the first time, because it spoiled all the secrets. XD I still have a beat-up OoT guide from Versus Books on my shelf right next to me; I still open it sometimes to look at the official art. XD

I liked to do that too, lol. Besides, strategy guides always have a boatload of artwork to ogle at, haha.
