At first glance you see the very surface theme of this painting, children playing around a tree in the cooler months of fall. The bright colors with the muted sky and mists with the playful characters make this fun and festive. However, if you look closer, the broken brush strokes and the other elements of the picture, black cats, murder of crows, scarves and hats with our their children, gives this painting a darker feel. What happened to the other kids? Good use of color and strokes, composition is nice, your eye doesn't stray and get left behind. Good work.

This deviation has a rather unique view and an extreme vision behind it. The pale backdrop with the vibrant colors make the picture ultimately pop and stand out. Paired with the poem, the artist has a put a clear purpose as well as a clear "picture" so to speak. Texture also makes this an interesting piece. The swirly mist and sky as well as the tree bark and patterns on the ribbons seem to mix together and draw the eye all around the picture. All in all, the picture has a wonderful concept in all and a complete new vision to it.

Colors are beautiful. But there's so much emotion in this. It reminds me of working really hard when you're a child to be able to get your way. But then when you get it, you don't want it anymore because there is so much evidence of your controlling on the situation that it feels dead and cold. I don't know if you can relate to that. But that's how I feel with all the ribbon tied around and some of it seems to just be sitting there. It's kind of bleak. Wonderful though!

Reminds me of the gnarled old tree from Sleepy Hollow, but with a more hopeful and positive vibe. Like the essence of spring is trapped within the tree... almost as if it's been waiting all winter to get out and party into summer. Stunning work, as always
