Description If there's one improvement I'm happy with this year, It's the ability to draw killer abs. I actually used Randy Orton and Hugh Jackman as references for his build.

Almost finished with the main twelve titans referenced in greek mythology, though It should take a bit longer to release them and the other characters I have in store. I feel like I've been lacking the motivation to draw these characters, what with school taking up most of my time and feeling too burned out  from it to do anything art related when I actually have free time to do anything. Even though I do want to finish up with these characters and do a lot more with them, I can't help but feel like it's a chore at this point that I'm obligated to do, especially with just becoming a double major in school and having pretty difficult classes this semester. Sure art is fun, but I always try to prioritize school over art, and this ends up making me more stressed out than usual. Though hopefully I can muster up enough motivation to finish up making references for my Titan characters quickly enough so that I can do more story based stuff with them.

Anyway, here's Crius, Themis's lover and a local guard/soldier for his city. The story of how he and Themis met is quite a hectic one, but one that would change both their lives.

Also, yes, that is a sword he's holding and armor on his legs. He also has a breast plate though I didn't bother putting it in this ref. Maybe in a future illustration I'll draw him wearing his full armor.

At one point, Crius was rather narcissistic and arrogant, believing himself to be rather handsome and a superb warrior. Women often adored him and he mostly sought glory from battle.

One day, he was hired by a rich nobleman to protect the nobleman's daughter, Themis , as she traveled to a nearby town so she could meet with some friends. Initially, he found his charms had no effect on her, and she was generally demanding and unappreciative of his presence. Eventually about only a quarter of the way through their journey, the two got into a fight, with her calling him an "arrogant oaf". After the argument he abandoned her in her carriage in anger.

After finding some time to cool down, he could here faint screaming not too far away. Following the screams, he witnessed the carriage destroyed and Themis screaming in pain and terror as a dragon-like creature native to their world bit her forearm. He managed to pull Themis from the Dragon's bite, with the dragon devouring her forearm. Crius then went to try and slay or drive off the beast, and after a brutal struggle, Crius repeatedly impaled the creature's skull, killing it.

After slaying the creature, Crius tried to wrap Themis's wounds and stifle the bleeding from her missing arm while desperately searching for medical attention. His worry intensified after Themis passed out from blood loss. Luckily, a group of people also heard Themis's cries and agreed to help with their wounds.

The two spent time recuperating with a poor family who treated their wounds and they eventually got to know each other much better. It wasn't until about a week or so later that the two recovered fully and returned to their town, much to everyone's relief.

It was from that experience that Crius felt something that he didn't feel before: true care and worry for someone other than himself. He then began to form a more selfless personality, even if he did become a bit rough around the edges from his run-in with the creature. From being scarred by the beast and becoming more lax about keeping up his appearance, his overall attractiveness diminished in the eyes of many, though he didn't care too much, since one person still found him appealing: Themis.

He lives with Themis and works as a local guard/warrior for his city.

Lizard people are always pretty cool to see. It's interesting to see how different people interpret this old concept.

Can you tell me about this particular race, if it's not too much trouble...?

Oh yeah no problem. I actually haven't fully figured it out myself though.

Initially I based this around the notion that Saturn's moon, Titan, may contain life. Though since I've found that humanoid species living there and other features of a rocky terrestrial world like Earth would be unlikely on Titan, I'm contemplating just making a world from scratch; I'm thinking of calling it 'Othrys'. I haven't really decided on the geography, although I've thought of the world being mostly desert and scrubland with oceans and icy polar caps. I had an idea of making most of the animals reptilian and even include a dragon-like animal, though I guess there'd be mammals as well since they wear cloth (or I guess it could be reptilian skin or a plant that makes material for clothing, I haven't fully decided).

The particular story I've centered my characters around takes place during a sort of classical/medieval period on their world, sometime after a great war. They range in skin tone from taupe to dark grey (you can observe that with my other Titan characters). As you can tell, their names are based on the Titans of greek mythology and some even have clothing reminiscent of classical Greece, though the similarities pretty much end their, either because not much is revealed about their greek myth counterparts or because I wanted to do something unique for their character and world. Much of the materials are unique to their world, hence why in this picture the blade he is using is made of a sort of black/dark grey metal.

Right now I also have an idea of their being more civilized Titans as well as a tribal population, at least in the general area in which the story takes place. Most of the tribal titans are identified as having taupe skin.

As far as physiology, I mostly gave them humanoid characteristics but also tried tying back into their more animalistic features. The idea I have right now is that they evolved from a reptilian species native to their planet. They have tails as you can see, but they also have sharp canines (though not shown in their refs) and are rather giant compared to humans (though the body proportions are relatively the same, and I haven't really decided on an average height). They have a wide range of eye colors including green, blue, and most commonly silver, though the sclera of their eyes (the part of the eye that is white for humans) is dark, so the eye colors contrast with that dark color. I was also considering giving them sharp claws at one point, but I decided against it since I didn't really picture them as carnivores but rather as omnivores, and sharps claws are mostly found in carnivores. Though their sharp canines are present due to eating dense foods and to appear threatening to other species.

That's what I've pretty much got so far, hopefully I explained everything well, though I'm honestly just so glad that someone is genuinely interested this species. I'm contemplating making a group for it after I finish making the characters, but we'll see.
