great work on this piece...ive seen several like this, but i personally feel this is better executed than most. i like the tight, geometric feel with this one, which you clearly intended based on the name.

thank you! I'm glad you feel that way - I WAS a bit leery in posting it, simply because there ARE so many works that are similar, but it makes me happy to hear that you feel it's a bit more creative/better done than most.

Whoa, ton of work in there. Reminds me of Escher.

Oh my..they have already...They started to hurt as first glance, but the overwhelming amount of shapes took in, and immediately caught my eye.

I just adore this piece. I really like all the shapes in it and I do like how its just black and white.

As *Kyuzo001 stated the thumbnail does have a grey shade that greatly takes over the picture, but it really reminds me of more pencil work and don't view it as a bad thing. Once you look at it full view you see its pen or ink and I think its cool that the same piece can look like pencil work when its ink.

Anyways a great piece

nice. the only thing i see that you might want to be aware of is that when you look at a small thumbnail of it. its has the feeling of overall gray. i dont know if i'm making sense here.

I do know what you mean - I think that this one could've used more contrast. There isn't really that much white to contrast with the black. Thanks for your comment.

yeah this one's more like a woodcut print.... love the softness of the lines (maybe where the ink bled)
and there seems to be a layering / stepped effect running down from left to right, its mesmerising !

thank you. As for the direction, you're exactly right. I started at the top left corner. I really appreciate your thoughtful comments - they are much more appreciated than "whoa thats cool prolly took a long time".

Thanks again.

oh me too....... I found a huge book of his work in the school library one day and wasn't allowed to take it out (reference only copy) but would spend hours looking thru it just in awe of his wild imagination....

I bought my older brother a book on illusions and famous "trippy" works and I have to be honest that it spends more time in my room than it does his. I always wonder at just how he came up with his idea and concepts.

Me too! I reckon maybe it was like a journey "inside" his imagination...... a bit like that road trip of yours...... he didnt neccessarily know where he was going with an idea or a concept but set out on an inner voyage of discovery.... finding new ways of seeing things.....just like in travel where we get a new perspective on what's around us.

this kind of work reminds me of my "evolution series" back in my gallery..

i loved what you did separating patterns, and squeezing them all into a flat and rolled out wall... like its time to go to work by inspiring others.

Very cool, i love your designs and patterns in here (impressive!) as per my incredibly lazy acts on critiquing this, i wish that the picture was just a bit brighter to makemore sense of the pattern. Just a little bit. But it looks fantastcic regardless. (sorry this took forever)
