Description This is a picture of many firsts.

It's my first shot at trying to draw either Brother Petros OR Astharoshe Asran, let alone both on the same page.

It's also my first time coloring any picture with Copic markers.

This version I gave some Photoshop attention to, as you can tell from all the shiny and glowy bits, and gradients. I really didn't try to adjust anything in the picture itself - mainly just adding effects to fill it out. I definitely need more practice though. Ack!

Trinity Blood
Artwork interpretation from the anime produced by GONZO, original novel/story by the late Yoshida Sunao, original character art design by Thores Shibamoto.

Pencil sketch inked by hand, scanned, printed out, colorized with Copic markers, scanned again, then given some extra love in Photoshop 7.0.

Brother Petros!!! The first time I saw him in the anime, I rolled my eyes. He was so frustrating and those speeches he would give before attacking...I wanted to pop him one. But by the end of the series, he was one of my favorite characters. Same with Asta, once she loosened up, she was great!

And you did do a fantastic job with his weapon. I can't imagine trying to draw a weapon that just spins fast like his does!

Thanks! I'm glad the effect came off even CLOSE. Motion is harder to convey than I thought!

Yeah, Petros has really grown on me too. For me I think it's just the huge potential he has to be a multidimensional character. Astharoshe is the same way - when their world views are challenged, they display a surprising amount of adaptability. Mmmm, plot bunnies abound.... heh.

There's just a great deal of charm in bull-headed characters that finally get a clue, I guess.

Ugh! Don't even get me started on plot bunnies. Somedays, I want to strangle those adorable little things as they bounce around in my already full head. I've had a bunny with Leon's name on it's collar for the longest time! But, my Saiyuki and Bleach stories are taking priority for the moment but Father Leon isn't very far behind!

Ooooh, looks lovely :3 Especially since it's your first go at copic markers...I've never used them myself, as I just stick to boring ol' Photoshop, or as I call it, the poor artist's medium

Heh, thanks!

I'd heard about them so I thought I'd try them - but ack, I'm so spoiled by the computer. In a way it feels like such a scam to buy a billion ink colors and pens and refills and nibs and special paper and tons of colorless blender....

That's so awesome for your first try drawing them. I love Father Petros' weapon and the way Asta looks.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked them! And another happy accident on the weapon I'm afraid...

A "happy accident"? How so?

You should see the sketch of that thing. It's just... a big... swirl. With a little attempt at scattered "pointy bits". Heh.. It's not much better now, but strangely, it works.

ooh!!! It's spiffy! And it's good, especially for your first shot at it! It makes me giddy. You should keep doing Trinity Blood art, you're really amazing at it! ^_^

...oh, don't worry... I think I'm stuck on this story for a while.
Pretty... characters...
Thanks so much, I'm glad you think it turned out okay!
