Description A commisioned Ring

a ring with the name "Nicolas" (the owner's name) writen in runes and "celtic designs" was what he asked me. I was first planing on making triskels on the sides of the name and closing the ring, but finally decided to do this, he saw this design and liked it and that was it.

is, again, saw pierced and patinated silver

he lived here in santiago and worked here, I met him at a medieval fair, also in santiago

i don't know if there are many norwegians here, but there are a lot of chileans on norway and sweden cause a lot of them left as self-exiles during the militare government 30 years ago

That's true! I actually know a very nice Chilean woman who came here when she was only a girl. And I also know a few Norwegians who lived in Chile for a while.

Great work again!!
You can be so delicate and amazing with rings...I love the runic design, and it's very balanced too(concerning the craft)

Yay, Silver! favourite material ever

Aranglinn In reply to ChocolateIsForever [2010-01-25 02:45:32 +0000 UTC]

haha, thanks again

yep, silver is such an epic material, but I must admit I also have a very dragon-like thing for gold I'm always thinking about seriously changing all my savings to gold coins and stuff xD (but currently I don't have any savings xD (just enought for a new sword... my las one was stolen u_u...)

ChocolateIsForever In reply to Aranglinn [2010-01-25 10:49:40 +0000 UTC]

ahahahaha! You like gold that much?
(have you read 'The Hobbit'? I bet you haveXD)

Oh my, your sword was stolen?! Who would steal a sword like that? How bad...and rude.
I hope you find a sword that'll be even better than the last one, and that this thing won't happen to you again.
(....a cookie to make your day just a tiny bit!)

Aranglinn In reply to ChocolateIsForever [2010-01-25 15:15:01 +0000 UTC]

I have, indeed xD
it was the first of tolkien's books I ever read

yep... I had to participate in an exhibition in a little medieval fair in some random university and when we were taking all my stuff from my mom's car to the taxi someone must have seen the sword and taken it without anyone of us noticing...

this was like...a month and a half ago?... I'm over it now... but I do still need a sword, reenactment and shows and stuff... so I hope there's still any of that swords in the store where I purchased it o.o

Such a great book, and damn, so adventurous!! A real page-turner!

Oh, so sorry for your sword...I imagine it was unexpectable, sth like this to happen, right?
haha, glad you're over it by now, and my best wishes on finding that one once more, without further trouble!

Aranglinn In reply to ChocolateIsForever [2010-01-31 18:39:38 +0000 UTC]

so true

and well, I have the money now but there are no more swords in the shop... they'll have more like in april... so I have to chosse between buying it a bit cheaper in the shop and wait or buy it from jelldragon.com and not wait so long... asdasd xD

ChocolateIsForever In reply to Aranglinn [2010-02-01 15:19:16 +0000 UTC]

oh bugger.
....the british way!

well, I'd take it from the online shop because, online shops are always more convinient and you can depend on them(broadly)-but the shipping is another thing, here...if the sword comes via airmail, well, the shipping and taxes might be pretty expensive...
Well, I'm not the expert here, but if you don't need a sword for a convection, an event or anything that rushes you at the moment, then I say you wait and buy it from your shop...Anyway, good luck with all this

Aranglinn In reply to ChocolateIsForever [2010-02-01 15:55:48 +0000 UTC]

haha xDD

nah, I finally decided to buy it online...cause I'll also buy a set of medieval and viking coins replicas, so I can make more replicas of them and recreate medieval treasures

ChocolateIsForever In reply to Aranglinn [2010-02-13 12:20:16 +0000 UTC]

yeah, I visited the website, it has some amazing stuff there, and quite well made, I believe.

Nice idea, really! But wouldn't it take a lot of time?XD well, depends on the size of the treasure, I assume!

I wish I'd be as talented as you in craftsmanship(I once used to make earings -and henna tattoos, celtic designs-but with beeds and silver strings, nothing special. That's why I turned to my drawing and painting skills, it seemed like the sensible thing to do as my craft works never really came out as I imagined them to be.(oddly, the tattoo thingie still works out, don't really get why)XD...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aranglinn In reply to ChocolateIsForever [2010-02-13 18:02:28 +0000 UTC]

well, I'll start with a little treasure...and then greater and greater... (then I'll have like all my money in silver and gold coins and I'll have no idea of what to do with those)

haha, thank you, well... I started making chains of rings made from silver wire, no thing special either and then, slowly moved to other stuff it's been like 3-4 years from that xD... I think it's just a thing of keeping on trying

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChocolateIsForever In reply to Aranglinn [2010-02-15 10:16:03 +0000 UTC]

hahaha So you're actually serious about turning all of your money into gold?
Will your treasure have gems and diamonds too? I love them

You've improved so much in 3-4 years!
It's also a matter of will and how much you like what you do, I think.
But I'm afraid I don't have the patience for such crafts Better focus on improving my drawing and painting skillsXD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aranglinn In reply to ChocolateIsForever [2010-02-15 21:46:14 +0000 UTC]

haha, not as serious as how much I know it will happen whether I like it or not xDD... and yeah, it will probably have a lot of gemstones too xDD

that's the good part of doing anything xDD you just have to keep doing it and on time you'll improve

Aranglinn In reply to Chosenofloki [2008-07-31 17:35:20 +0000 UTC]

haha, thanks

well, I don't think this kind of things would be too expensive, for example, I made this one for, aprox, US$20 (most of my jewellry works don't go further than that). anyway, I don't know anything about all the sending or shipping stuff. but if you'd save some money and would like a commish It'd be fun to find out how to do it
