I downloaded this 90s anime filter for Clip Studio, and that's pretty much why the picture looks the way it does. I was wanting to redraw some scenes from Door to Phantomile and kind of make them look like an old 90s show. What pushed me right into actually doing it was multiple people on Twitter saying my Klonoa art was like if there was a Klonoa anime, so yeah.

I'm still working on my comic but Klonoa... Sometimes you just gotta draw Klonoa.

edit: so i may have accidentally led people to believe that there's some obscure klonoa anime from the 90s lol... the fake klonoa anime is real in my heart dammit
