Description

Old portrait I did of Pasithea (“relaxation” or “hallucination”), wife if Hypnos and, before that, one of the Charites (Graces).

There are many versions of this, but my favourite one is that Hera promised Pasithea to Hypnos if he put to sleep Zeus during the Trojan war so the Achaeans (Hera’s side) will win. (Spoiler: he did)

She is the personification of relaxation, meditation and hallucinations. She and Hypnos make a great couple in many ways

I hope you like it

Yeah, but I feel bad for Hephaestus. I read that, apparenty, he was Pasithea's boyfriend before Hera did her couplemaker thing

Jajaja, muchas gracias, Robbie!

pd: (queremos dibujos tuyos!!)

I didn't know about her! Thank you for always adding their stories.
As always, a very suiting depiction: I like a lot the draping and the different blending hues of her dress, and the smoky veil that recalls the essence of dreams.

Thank you so much, I spent a lot of time deciding on the "smoky" veil, I almost erased it! Thanks a lot for your comment

Ahhh... your drawing technique is just awesome, especially the veil!
You draw like a sketch and painting all in one.
I always admire your goddesses drawings!

Thank you so much! Yes, I paint over unfinished or "unclean" sketches, I am that lazy, but if you like it, then I'm glad!

She's beautiful, I like how you made her eyes so otherworldly.

And by the bye, I think it's a wonderful idea to draw her with Hypnos.

BRAVA!  ENCORE!

What about Pasithea & Hypnos' children, their 4 sons, the Oneiroi ( en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Oneiroi )?

P.S.:  Even after she married Hypnos, Pasithea ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasithea & en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Pasithe… ) was still one of the Charites (Graces)--just like Aglaea (one of the three Main Charites; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aglaea ),was still aftter she married Hephaestus, (after he divorced Aphrodite for her Infidelity), and by him became mother of Eucleia (“Good Repute”), Eupheme (“Acclaim”), Euthenia (“Prosperity”), and Philophrosyne (“Welcome”).

Wow, their children concept is so interesting, I will surely draw them! Thanks for the ideas, as always!

Moon-Shadow-1985 In reply to Arbetta [2014-11-16 16:36:28 +0000 UTC]

The thing is, the Oneiroi are either Hypnos' & Pasithea's children, OR Hypnos' parent's, Nyx's & Erebus' children (which would also make them Hypnos' & Thanatos' siblings).

She looks so relaxed, yet something about her expression tells me that if you threaten her or her husband, she can really get angry. I also love her smoky appearance- it can really bring out the idea of her being the personification of hallucination! One of my favorite pieces by you so far!
