Description
This was one of my first attempts photographing water drops in a bowl. After downloading from the camera, I started playing with the RAW image in my Canon program enhancing the colors and clarity. After making a JPG version, I worked it even further in PSE 2.0 to get this resulting image. Sorry name for it but it is what it is.I'd love your feedback on this one.

I attempted a photo of a water drop - got a dull "whirlpool" image missing the drop rising off the water's surface. I just kept playing with contrast, RGB, sharpness, levels, etc until I got this resulting image. I actually played with it further doing a second piece off of this one by running it through a "polar coordinates" filter in PSE.

At first glance the framing seemed a bit weird... like it's tilted or something. But the more I look at this the more I like it. I love the colors, almost looks metallic. All in all I think this was a pretty good first attempt for sure! I've been wanting to experiment with water droplets for a while now that I have an amazing camera just haven't gotten around to it.. seems like a fun challenge though!

it's wicked hard to do - my cam is a good one - not a pro one. I've been doing some reading by those who have successfully accomplished the task - they have really involved set ups! Thank you so much for your feedback. It is weird framing but I decided to just go with it.

I've got my eye on a pro level camera but it will be a LONG time before I can get one - even used - sucks working for minimum wage!

Yeah no kidding lol! I was working at Burger King when I was saving up for mine. Granted, both my fiance and I were managers, but still it's not easy lol. I was only making $8.80 as a shift manager. We were bringing in about $2100 a month and our bills including food cost was about $1600 a month... not to mention having to get the car registered and inspected fixing little things along the way... I was saving for a year before I could finally get it lol. Takes some great budgeting skills and lot of patience but it's doable even at minimum wage.

Oh I can budget - just that what's coming in is getting stretched esp with recent health issues. Sigh... But, I'm determined to keep at it - have some nice glass on the wish list too... one piece at a time is the way to go!
