Lol...Quilava is one of my favourite pokemon a few years ago,something about them looks cool and spunky...their flaming manes maybe?

Quilava?! 8D <3 Nice action poses! I'm not a fan of burn colours typically, but you didnt't over do it here (as most tend to). Good idea using it all around for consisetncy. I think the fire looks good actually. You could try sprousing it in photoshop with motion blur filters and opacity gradients.
