Well it was just a question and I was just pointing out something because I tend to be a keen observer when it comes to comparing other artist work to the originals. Most BoF2 fans would know that Nina's dark wings is probably what makes her stand out the most, and when artists leave this out, some will question why.
As for the "impossible proportions" thing, I'd have to disagree. If her proportions are so impossible as you said, then how is it that there are plenty of real women with similar, if not almost dead-on just like, body shapes to Nina (hourglass). I wouldn't say it's impossible, but maybe uncommon for women to have hourglass figures. I've seen a few women like this at gyms, physical ed classes, and at the parks running. Look at Beyonce's body... What does "impossible proportions" have anything to do with getting her breast size wrong anyway? I don't understand what you're trying to say.

You are free to commission Arc or any other artist to draw Nina the way you would like her to appear.

Sorry for the double post, but I also don't recall her breasts being that large too. I mean she does have a nice pair of knockers, they seemed more like a C size.

Great lighting effects and kudos for keeping Nina as the beauty she is. However, where are her majestic and lovely dark wings?

Her wings will come when Arc is ready to add them. And her breasts are large because Nina has impossible proportions, including a compressed torso; rather than spend forever trying to replicate that, it was easier just to back into the same basic body ratios through larger breasts.

Wait a minute! BoF2 Nina's got a healthy hourglass figure. You trying to say that an hourglass figure is impossible? I agree with the other guy on this matter. Regardless, the author did a wonderful job with the lighting, painting, and most of everything else. I looked at arcbuncle's other works and I think they're beautiful too.

Okay, I'm getting tired of this.
I'm saying Nina has extremely long legs, a microscopic waist, a vertically compressed ribcage, hollow bones, and elongated fingers modeled after bird talons. Yes, that is an impossible figure.
Even if you toss out the bird elements like the hollow bones and fingers, and you're still left with an inverted body ratio where the legs are the primary source of height, rather than the torso. Nina's figure is realistically impossible because she is designed as a bird-type human, not a generic realistic female figure with angel wings bolted on.
It's extremely difficult to replicate these proportions exactly, even with quality reference material like that found in the Breath of Fire Official Complete Works artbook. Ask Arc, and he'll confirm that. We went back and forth several times in the sketch phase trying to approximate Nina's body ratios while still taking into account not only Arc's art styleβwhich is obviously very different from Tatsuya Yoshikawa'sβbut the perspective the picture is drawn from. The end result? Arc drew her with a longer torso than she normally has, so to preserve her torso's relative proportions, she has larger breasts. You'd have to ask Arc why specifically he drew them that large, but you know what? I'm not complaining. He wound up drawing a unique piece with effort oozing from every pixel.
The only person Arc has to satisfy is me, since I'm the person who paid for this. You either like it or you don't. Doesn't matter to me. But agreeing with the previous commenter is, IMO, silly. He has no idea what went into the construction of this image, and apparently little idea as to what Nina's body actually looks like in official art (which, just so we're clear, is this: [link] ).
I'm sure Arc is glad to read your kind words about his artwork, so I'll thank you on his behalf for those.

I don't have any plans to commission more BoF2 art, though that could always change. If you'd like more, the best course of action is to commission Arc yourself.

You know, I never said it before, but you design some pretty awesome furniture. β¦ Oh, and the lighting is pretty damn awesome too. But that recliner! It totally steals the show here.
Seriously, though, this is one of my favorite Nina pictures. Excellent job all around.
