Applejack does not like Trenderhoof, because of how he can't leave her alone. While he doesn't even try to help out on the farm. As for Smash, she knows that he loves her. But he can give her privacy and actually help her out with the shores on the farm. Like he did when Big Macintosh and Sugar Belle were on their honeymoon. Smash is also not as obnoxious as Trenderhoof and is more truthful about how he feels. Instead of romanticizing them in order to sound romantic. No surprise that the Element of Honesty does not like when people are not honest about their feelings and what is wrong. While Smash was scared to admit his feelings, because he was scared that Applejack wouldn’t like him if he was honest. But after talking it out with her, everything became better between the two ponies.
