I have been watching the battle between Ash and Leon lately and thought about how bonkers the brackets were.

In my opinion, it would have been much better if Ash's first opponent was Alain. So that they could have their rematch and Ash could defeat him after losing to Alain in the Kalos Leauge. This would allow Steven to face Diantha and Lance to have a rematch against Leon, while also not making Alain's Mega Charizard X being destroyed by a regular Charizard and thus become fodder.

Another thing I would change, even if it has nothing to do with the brackets, is that Diantha wouldn't be swepped like she did. Leon's Rillaboom basically destroyed her entire team and even tanked a Fire Blast from Diantha's Goodra. Then we have the bullshit of Mega Gardevoir combining Max Airstream, G-Max Wildfire and Psychic into a single attack, but was still one-shot by a G-Max Wildfire from Gigantamax Charizard.

I can go on about other strange moments during the Masters Eight Tournament, but I think I have said enough.
