Description
The third wave of characters officially begins today on the third of April 2023. With the real 22:nd character, that was requested by HaydenTheDarkWebDemo . Hopefully these upcomming characters will be as exciting as the ones made in the last two waves. As you can see, the real 22:nd character is none other than one of the giants of the Skylands, Tree Rex. You should be afraid of the bark, as he will show up and make sure that you know your place. Though his size alone will make sure that everyone knows that he is here. But will he actually succeed? Let us find out.
Here is the moveset in detail:
STANDARD B: Photosynthesis Cannon
Tree Rex points his right arm forwards and fires three green energy-blasts from the sphere on the back of his hand. The blasts themselves are as large as a fully-charged “Charge Shot” and gets fired as rapidly as Falco’s Blaster-shots. These blasts will travel as far as Pyra’s Side B and deal as much damage as Falco’s blaster-shots, though with slightly more knockback. After he has fired these energy-blasts, he will return back to his normal fighting stance and must wait eight seconds before he can fire these blasts again.
If the player decides to hold in the B-button while performing this move. Then Tree Rex will rear his right arm forwards and stand still for a while. Then after the player either releases the B-button or after two seconds has passed. Tree Rex will fire a much larger blast from his sphere. This blast will deal as much damage as Sephiroth’s GigaFlare. But it will not travel as far as his regular blasts. After this “charged-up” blast has been fired, Tree Rex must wait twelve seconds before he can use it (and the normal version) again.
If Tree Rex tries to perform either version before the recovery-time has passed, then he will rear his arm forwards but nothing else will happen. Leaving him open to get attacked by the opponents. While Tree Rex are firing these shots (regardless of which version he performs), he will be unable to move from his current position. He can also not perform either variant while he is airborne.
SIDE B: Sequoia Stampede
Tree Rex slams his right arm into the ground, transforms it into a spiked roller and then rushes towards the direction that he is currently facing. Just like in the pictures. The speed that he runs in is slightly slower than Bowser Jr.’s Side B. If an opponent comes in contact with the roller, then Tree Rex will run the opponent over. Dealing 15 % damage to the opponent (with the roller and then with his steps) and leave it buried for four seconds. When an opponent comes in contact with Tree Rex’s body while he performs this move. Then that opponent will receive around 6 % damage and a somewhat moderate amount of knockback. Tree Rex will also destroy any traps that are in his way, while he is performing this move. While Tree Rex is running, he is unable to turn around and jump. Pressing one of the jump-buttons or the B-button will make him return back to normal and then he must wait seven seconds before he can use this move again. If Tree Rex runs off the ledge while he is performing this move, then he will keep rolling until the player cancels the attack. If the player tries to perform this move before the recovery-time has ended, then he will just perform his forwards tilt and nothing else.
UP B: Boulder Throw
Tree Rex picks up a massive boulder out of the ground, holds it above his head for a second and throws it towards the direction he is facing. Just like Knuckles’ Standard B in Super Smash Flash. Once Tree Rex holds the boulder above his head, the player can hold in the B-button to make him hold onto it for an extended period of time. While this is happening, Tree Rex can walk around with the boulder. But he cannot jump or performs any of his other special moves until he has thrown the boulder. When the player lets go of the B-button, Tree Rex will throw the boulder. While he is carrying the boulder, his overall hurt-box will become even larger and if he takes 50 % damage before he gets the chance to throw the boulder. Then he will drop it and deal an additional 17 % damage to himself. The size of the boulder is as big as it is in the picture and when thrown, it will deal 50 % more damage and knockback as a thrown Ore Club. While also being thrown a lot further than the Ore Club. If an opponent gets hit by the boulder as Tree Rex picks it up, then that opponent will get stunned for a few seconds and be left open to get attacked by the following attacks. Regardless if it is the thrown boulder or something else. Once Tree Rex has either thrown the boulder or dropped it on himself. He must wait eleven seconds before he can pick up another one. If the player tries to perform the move anyways, then he will just perform his up tilt.
DOWN B: Woodpecker Pal
Tree Rex whistles and then a woodpecker flies towards him and sits on his back. After it has landed on him, the woodpecker will stay there until Tree Rex either loses a stock. When that happens, the woodpecker will fly away and cannot be called again until twenty seconds has passed. If the player tries to call the woodpecker before the twenty seconds has passed. Then Tree Rex will whistle but the woodpecker will not come, thus leaving him open to get attacked. While the woodpecker is sitting on his back, the player can press Down B again to make it fly up and attack any nearby opponent with either a swooping-motion or a straight stab-attack with its beak. All depending on where the closest opponents are to Tree Rex. Each attack is really fast, deals 5 – 7 % damage and a small amount of knockback. Then after the woodpecker has performed either attack, it will fly back to Tree Rex and sit on his back. After three seconds has passed, Tree Rex can make the woodpecker attack again. Though if no opponents were near Tree Rex when he commands it to attack, then the woodpecker will peck on him and deal 3 % damage to him instead. However, if the woodpecker gets hit by an attack while it is attacking the opponents. Then it will get knocked away (just like when Luma gets attacked) and Tree Rex cannot call it again until 23 seconds has passed.
FINAL SMASH: Pullin' the Isles
Tree Rex turns to the closest ledge and roars loudly. Then he takes out a lasso made out of his own vines and grabs something in the distance. After he managed to grab something, he starts pulling the vines as the camera zooms backwards. Thus pulling an entire floating island towards the side of the stage he is on (just like in the pictures). After the island has collided with the stage, Tree Rex will tie them together with the vines and the battle will continue from there. Tree Rex cannot be harmed during this entire process. Once the stage and the floating island has been tied together, it will act as an additional part of the stage that everyone can use, including Tree Rex. With the island island itself being around the same size as the main platform on Battlefield. After ten seconds has passed since Tree Rex successfully tied the floating island together with the stage. Tree Rex will use his powers to tie all opponents that currently were on the floating island (even those that are in the air above it). Then he will jump towards where he tied the two together and cut the vines. Then the floating island will float back to the distance, carrying the tied-up opponents with it. Making them instantly lose a stock and Tree Rex will wave at them. While all opponents that where on the real stage will remain unharmed. If one of Tree Rex’ allies in a Team Battle got stuck on the floating island. Then Tree Rex will use his powers to bring them safely back to the actual stage before he releases the floating island. Once the floating island is gone, the battle will carry on as usual.
