"We had an incredibly unexpected encounter today. In our search to film and document the elusive manticore our search had taken us to the western border of India to a village who had an encounter only a day prior. As we were interviewing the villagers we noticed a man bound to a pole at the far end of the village, curiously I asked about him wondering if he had committed a crime, with dread and what I suspect was a hint of pity the elders told me he was afflicted. My curiosity insatiable I asked if we could examine and document the man and with some convincing we got the okay so long as he remained bound.
He looked emaciated and practically dead, before I could turn around and reprimand them for his treatment the man suddenly awoke and tried to lunge at me. Thankfully the heavy chains held and as I calmed from the sudden fright I could see that this was no longer a man but a monster.
I had only heard stories of the "wolf's affliction" but to actually see it with our own eyes is... demonic, for lack of a better term.
The villagers had said he began to transform roughly a month ago after he was attacked on his way to the river saying he managed to fight off the creature with his machete after it bit his arm. After he was rescued they tried to treat his wound but nothing seemed to work and that all the medicines they tried only lasted a few minutes.
After a couple of weeks he only seemed to worsen and could be seen losing hair and growing teeth and even claws, the man, while he could still speak, told them to place him here fearing for everyone's safety, in his final hours it seems he saved his entire village from the beast within while avoiding any casualties."
