Excerpt from The Secret History of the Mongols:

"At the beginning there was a blue-grey wolf, born with his destiny ordained by Heaven Above. His wife was a fallow doe. They came crossing the Sea."

In a way, Karta stands at a crossing of the Sea. Civilization teeters on the edge of Heaven and Earth, and the crossing of that Great Interstellar Sea is only a matter of when—not if. This is not to discredit the forebears however—that wolf and that doe, so to speak, for laying the foundation for what has been built so far. It is most definitely their ancestors that Humanity can thank for its advances, and they can only hope to build a stable floor for their descendants. I will not lay upon you a wall of explanations (for you may be able to glean much yourself) but I do ask for you to recognize connections and divergences. After all, the universe is level headed and plentiful, and you can gather very much from very little.

Hello! Here's my most recent project, Level Headed and Plentiful (LHAP). It has no singular point of divergence, but instead follows a more spurious philosophy I like to call "chaining"—where a series of small changes across history lead to increasingly wild butterfly events. The largest of these links is that of the Large Mongol Empire, but several others are interspersed here and there (if you know where to look). This is probably my most expansive single work for a project, and I'm not likely to revisit this again. Either way, I had a great time spending lots of hours on this (and I hope you enjoy reading it). If you have any specific questions, I may be able to answer them, but any overarching themes I'll probably leave up to interpretation. Hope you enjoy!
