  It was another nice day in the Kyojin district, the sun was warm and the sky was clear. The air had a peacefulness to it, and everyone seemed content. Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover were in Mr. Kaufman's shed, playing a game of chess. Bertholdt studied the board carefully, stroking his chin with his finger.
"Hmm..." He hummed slowly, trying to decide his next move.
"Well Bertholdt?" Reiner asked, crossing his arms and giving a smug smile. Bertholdt thought a moment more before moving his pawn forward. Satisfied enough with his choice, he leaned back against his chair, signifying his turn was over. Reiner smiled more and ran his hand along his cravat.
"I can already tell you're going to lose this round." He stated confidently, meeting Bertholdt's eyes. Bertholdt smiled to himself somewhat awkwardly. He couldn't tell if Reiner was just talking to talk, or hoping he'd resign early, but Bertholdt had no intention of pulling back. He was in this till the end.
"We'll see about that, Reiner." Bertholdt said, hoping Reiner couldn't see how uncertain he felt.
  Outside the shed there was a strange noise, Bertholdt couldn't place what it was, and didn't have time to think about it, as it sounded again. This time, it shook the ground with it, making the windows rattle, and the table quiver. Bertholdt glanced down at his tea cup and saw it shaking, the tea inside beginning to slosh.
"Huh?"

Lo and behold: PLOT! After finishing some upgrade requirements for these two yesterday, it is time for me to finally get their story rolling~~ This picture has been in the works for almost a year, and while I wish it didn't take so long for me to get around completing it, I LOVE the result of it! I aimed to make this comic hearken to the style of AOT (at least seasons 1-2), and I think I was really successful with it! That being said, for sake of completing this story line quicker (and because I think it could be fun) I'm going to be changing the style of the next parts to a more sketchy, black and white, drawing closer to the actual manga of AOT (though probably a little less sketchy.) I'm really excited for that though, I think it could be really fun to do, both drawing it and just finally getting this story out that has been in my head for so long! If you want an idea on how the next parts could look, I'm guessing it would look closer to something like this picture, we'll see though.
EITHER WAY, I'm SOOOO happy with this picture, and it's really nice to see it completed after so long! Reiner-Bertholdt plot, it's HAPPENING!
