After the initiation into the Legion under the enigmatic Skold, the former soldier John "Ark" Irvin is send out with the eccentric Moira Calib to investigate missing ships in the north sea, but soon the hunter may become the hunted...

Propably already noticable from the cover, this story is heavily inspired by multiple works of H.P. Lovecraft, but it is no horror story, more dark fantasy. In general, this is also more representative of the later stories, largely self contained and can be read without reading the first two.

As with the covers before, I try to study new artists with every one of these, and focus on different things. This time mainly smaller shapes, inking styles and displaying different background structures in binary colours. The main artists I studied for this are Greg Staples, who does fantastically atmospheric scenes with great rendering, almost painting with the ink, and Massimo Belardinelli, who does gorgous backgrounds that wander between realism and playful, sweeping lines.
