Description
As you may have noticed i've not been as active on this site as i once was, and now that this game has finally been announced i can finally open my mouth
The game in question is Bionic Commando which as some of you may know is one of Capcom's classic NES games, anyway im working as a concept artist for this game at Stockholm based developer GRIN.
And since this image has already been posted across the net i thought i might as well do the same here.

I think it's a mix. You can see some places that it's 3D, but his armpit and bandaged hand in particular look very much liker they're painted. Who knows?

Nathan Spencer looks more like Bionic Hobo if anyhting. I expect the gameplay to be fun despite alot of twitchy quirks and the storyline I expect to be utter tripe from what I've heard of it.
Loved the original and the remake on the gameboy (gbc was just painful to play compared to the previous two).

holy this freaken rocks X'D the only version I've played do that game was the remake/sequel thing of the GBC from awhile back, but 80 having the slightest amount of nostalgic value makes this image even more awesome, so much detail and motion
there is a really curious mix of mediums here...is it the game models with digital paint over the top or something? i don't usssally dig 3D-CG stand-alone pieces of art but this one rocks! i love the post apocalyptic feel to, very gritty and raw

so hey, ive been considering for a little while building this bionic arm...you wouldnt happen to have details of the part of the arm closest to the torso would you? or the final decision of the piece on the top of the hand that moves backward? cause i cant find anything, and the videos posted on gamespot dont help much. and the b&w rendered picture doesn't show those two things.

Bionic Commando is still one of my favourite games of all time (the NES version, anyway). I actually made a BC quake mod once - had lots of fun in co-op mode with that.
This is a gorgeous picture - dynamic and well framed. Hope to see more of these soon
