The first pic looks kinda like the Faraam set of armor drom Dark Souls 2, while the second reminds me of a "Centipedian" from the old Spider Rider book series.

I remember I saw this artwork on some gaming site stating it was artwork for a abandoned Final Fantasy 12 sequel a couple of months back. Don't know if it is true (it probably isn't) but this is still awesome none the less. I loved it then and I still love it now.
