Sorry for making another One Piece-fanart. D': Next time I try to err...do something else for a while.Well here's Ace, he's the most good-looking guy in the whole series, I think.
I have never ever before done a human without shirt so give me mercy~
At least I think the colours turned out quite nice.

(Unless that's a dagger at his hip and not the handle of an antique-looking flintlock pistol; I don't know, because I don't know the character, but the angle is right for it to be such a pistol hanging downwards, out of view.)

I'd like to think I know my stuff when it comes to guns... Even the really old ones. 
Meh, now I'm all tempted to go and find out more about this One Piece thing, but that would involve immersing myself in the story... not that that's a bad thing, but you have to do it properly or not at all, it takes so much time to do it properly, and I'm kinda short of time at the moment.
Really cool artwork in any case. I write about a character who does something similar ^^ (although he doesn't create the fireballs, he just tosses existing ones, and his guns are more modern).

Well, One Piece is a long story so reading/watching it to the newest plot point would take some time xD But when you are not short of time, you really should see what's that series about
I don't know myself anything about guns, but I think they look kinda cool, and the old ones look pretty, being often decorated and stuff

But yeah, I agree, guns are fun to draw. It takes a while to get them right, but when you do (like in this picture, even though you can't see very much of it) it looks really cool. As far as antique guns looking prettier, though, some of the newer ones can give the older, prettier ones a run for their money. Howa is a Japanese firm that makes rifles, including this one that looks as if the entire housing is carved from one block of wood. Slap a nice engraving or something on that and it'd look so cool, it'd be a pity to actually fire it

Hehe ^^ They're one of the few things I really know a lot about (aside from video games, writing and subcultures 
The Italian firm Pietta (I think) makes replicas of antique guns that don't have an antique misfire rate (as in, "CAUTION: pulling the trigger may result in the loss of your hands"), but I'm not sure if they actually fire or not. In any case, if you're looking for some references for drawing antique-looking guns, Pietta probably has a website with some up-to-date pictures
