Hey man, I'm not exactly sure if you are familiar with me much, nor am I much familiar with you, but I decided to check up on you to see how you were doing. First off, congratulations on getting a graphics tablet, that seriously opens many windows, it's kinda hard to do work with a mouse so congratulations on that! As for the art itself, it's nice to see you trying to draw some more original stuff, copying anime is good but it shouldn't be overdone. This picture, when put in comparison with your other works, is showing your improvement for sure, but there's still some things you could work on to make this piece better. While the pose itself was a good idea, and you have a basic knowledge of where some of the major muscles go, the anatomy and proportions are a little dysfunctional in this picture. The head is somewhat of a round ball with what you can visualize as sort of a box sitting under the front half of it, while the back half of the ball is what connects the head to the neck. Here, the head is more of an oval than that ball with the square sitting underneath the front half, and the neck is disproportionately large, especially when in comparison to his arm and stomach muscles. While you seem to know that the arm is broken up to into 3 major discernable parts, you don't seem to know much beyond that. What I mean by that is that it appears you are just drawing the arm and the muscles from what you've memorized and have seen from pictures of anime arms, you don't appear to have the actual knowledge of where the muscles actually are, where they connect, their size, things like that. Shading wise, you have a light source coming from overhead so good job on that, you seem to understand those pretty well. Also, the eye and face are slightly large and lifeless, the eye in particular. It somewhat reminds me of those old Egyptian paintings, the big eye from the profile looking at the viewer. That problem is easily solvable, just take some time to study the skull and how the eyeball sits in it, remember that the eye is a round ball, it's not flat. Anyways, again, congratulations on getting a tablet, I wish you the best of luck in your art now and for the future! By the way, why don't you join Skype? Everyone hangs out there, it would be cool for you to get in touch with everyone. Anyways, great job! Keep practicing and have a good day!
