Everybody always focuses on how the death of Apple Jack's parents affected her Apple Bloom, and Big Mac. No one ever seem to think about how hard that may have hit Granny. She probably put on a brave face for the youngins' but I'm sure she was hurting inside as much as they were.

Yeah. She expected them to live long and happy lives. Even if she wasn't present the whole time of it, she'd die happy knowing they themselves were happy.
The advent of burying ones own children, especially in a close nit species, is heartbreaking.
