Pre-Apocalyptic History:
She was in a dance school, working on having a professional dancing career like her mother. Despite knowing and practicing different styles of dance, her area of expertise was in Contemporary. This field was something she was very passionate about, working hard at it since she was just a little girl, practicing everyday. Now with the apocolypse, her dream she worked for will never be fulfilled, causing her to feel bitter that her hard work had gone to waste.

Post-Apocalyptic History:
Her parents founded Stonewell. The village starting with just the Montagues, then developed further as they came across people or others came across them, begging for entrance. They allowed it, though would keep people under close watch for the first while, to be sure they weren’t raiders or bandits, as they had made the mistake before when they were still unaware of how the apocalypse changed people. Though the situation was taken care of, it just shows they can't be too trusting. A few months and already the village was lively..or at least as lively as they could be with what was going on, and the people who lived there were very loyal and made themselves useful.

6 Months ago, Helena had been out on an errand-- despite her mothers protest-- but her father had enough faith in her to let her go. She had encountered a shuffler, and while trying to escape she had been grabbed, yanked back by her hair. If it weren't for a small group of 3 appearing she would have been killed. Out of gratitude, she offered to bring them back to Stonewell. Unbeknownst to her, this decision would have a long lasting effect. Her judgment had been clouded by how grateful she was to her saviors.

Helena had been out with the nightwatch Gunmen, as shots echoed through the night, breaking the silence and it was clear to all those who heard that they were coming from inside the village. The group who had saved helena from the shuffler were a group of raiders already with previous knowledge of the village, having encountering it. Though they could have chosen to stay, they’d rather just raid what they could, kill who they could, then be on their way. Fortunately they had been taken out before they could have killed more. They lost the lives of four people, two of them being her parents.

Since then she had gotten more bitter, not only was her dream shattered but her the last of her family had been taken away by her foolishness. She now has no trust towards anyone but her villagers, and if she comes across anyone she deems a threat, she doesn’t hesitate to remove them. She considers the Stonewell people her family and has become very protective over every soul there.

She had become the new leader after the burial of the four they lost. Luckily for her there was no protest. She often dreams of a better place for them. That the apocalypse would just simply come to an end and her people can leave the walls without fear of being ripped apart, and that the survivors can begin rebuilding what's been destroyed. Its these dreams that always gives her hope of a better tomorrow.

+ She goes by her surname. The only people who call her Helena are her ‘family’. If you earn her trust, she will allow you to refer to her as her first name
+ Originally being from latvia, she speaks with a Latvian accent. She and her family had only been in Canada 5 years before the apocalypse hit.
+ She still dances, though only when she’s alone, its like an escape for her now. Its one of the few things that can still make her smile.
+ Loves pastel dresses, but its the end of the world and you can't fight in dresses. She has a few but they are kept as Special occasion things. She has no one to impress and she’s supposed to appear strong and like a leader, not like a feminine weakling.
+ Misses her long hair, it was to mid back before she had to chop it off to keep her from getting caught again. She often encourages anyone with long hair to cut it or keep it out of the way so they don't get grabbed.
+ She considers the villagers her family and will do absolutely anything to keep them safe.
+ Despite being a leader she often helps stand guard with the gunmen, being trained in using a gun herself. She also goes on errands, wanting to contribute as much as she can to her people.
