Not like many of the million-tonne monsters could even crawl out of the Inner System: their drives were optimised for voyages merely months long, whereas every supply run to the few human settlements and its 600 inhabitants beyond the Belt was bordering on the timeframe of decades. Semi-autonomous cargo drones like these had ensured the continuity of the Human presence at Jupiter and beyond, before the advent of mass beaming had rendered them and their high ISP drives redundant four decades later.
