.:theRooster, Hen, and Hydrangeas this artwork was inspired by CLAMP..
and for the theme i choose was inspired by Japanese Artist : Ito Jakuchu, on his art ..
it is so inspiring me so that i draw XXXholic fan and mix it with one of his art, which is so traditionally Japanese art..
i concern on the subject for the kimono's pattens of both, just like what CLAMP does..
but they still do the best, and i'm still learning..
as always, i originally sketch it first by hand then scan into my pc, and color it..
it was made on October 20th ,2012 at 11pm till 5am October 21th ,2012..

its not exactly tracing but you found the picture off one of the manga covers and draw it to imitate the pic...something along those lines?
what i mean is, did you originally create that pic(not the characters) or did you find it off some manga chapter cover page

i never do imitate cover or any else..
i draw it with my own theme..
and if u want to know, the title of the anime/manga is mentioned over there, XXX Holic..
just find any images of this anime/manga, absolutely, u won't find like what i draw..
i draw it originally, by my own theme, the setting and the art..
but i do, i'm fan of CLAMP, who are the mangaka/cartoonist of XXX Holic..
i love their artwork in this manga/anime..
so that's why i want to draw a fan art of this anime/manga..
so this is, my own art with my own theme, no cover anything..
since i love CLAMP, actually since when i'm at elementary school, i like to draw some of the characters from their manga, such as Cardcaptor Sakura, Clamp Campus Detective, etc..
i've ever drawn own characters on my papper but it's been so long until i got lil bit difficulties to find it around my book boxes at my house..
after all, i am inspired by CLAMP for my art..
but i never do imitate just by doing the lines or else..
i never, because i do appreciate the originality..

actually i somewhat dislike if some people do imitating/tracing any art..
and also if they get compliment for their imitating/tracing..
but after all, that's their own business..
i just want to draw as best as i can..

then i should say that i love the theme with the characters~ i, myself, am a fan of CLAMP so i'm also familiar with xxxHolic-love it in fact.
though my fav manga/show created by CLAMP is Tsubasa Chronicles-complicated yes, but i just love the theme; which also reminds me that i should re-read the manga briefly so i can remember what i can't~

if u are really CLAMP's fan, u should be able to identify is it CLAMP's originally art or not..
just that the point..
i love their art since Clamp Campus Detective shown in my country's tv station..
i watched it but it's not finished by the tv station in my country..
then i watched CCS,i'm in love with CCS's storyline and i found some mangas of it..
i read them, and i try to draw the character by myself..
this what u should learn about me,"from the first time i'm in love with drawing, i have principle here that i never do copy use carbon paper to any picture, CLAMP's and others.."
i always try to draw it by myself, by putting the original picture/image beside my work..
and i finish it by myself..
in every art that i have made on my own..by my own hand and creativity, not by copying..
actually, i didn't need to read every manga of CLAMP's for knowing the storyline..
though sometimes i found twist on their manga, i love it..
just know about some titles, and it's created by CLAMP, that's enough, or it's not by CLAMP but CLAMP has a part of it, i know from the artwork like Code Geass and Blood C,etc..
everyone has their own point of view about the meaning of FAN itself..
i do read CLAMP's manga , also some which not many ppl will read this manga though it's CLAMP,have u read The One I Love, Shirahime Shyo, and Coz I Love You?i guess u just know it but u haven't read it..
they are the manga of CLAMP in 90's, beside X1999, Clover, etc..
i learn every art of CLAMP by read the CLAMP's manga that i found in my country (sold at bookstore) though it's been so old (90's) actually..
for Tsubasa,XXXholic,i watch their movies..
i didn't follow to read them at manga, because sometimes i think it's easier to understand about "the main story" of this manga by watching their anime..
for Tsubasa i watch the OVA, for XXXholic i watched the anime,until Key and the movies..
i learn about their artwork by seeing on the 1st(from now till 18th) book/manga of XXXholic that i buy,i only buy the 1st one..
i guess that's enough for me, and sometimes i still learn about the XXXholic artwork by searching the scanlations on net..
and one thing i like from this manga is the artwork kinda different from CLAMP's at the 90's era, we can see from X1999, RG Veda, Angelic Layer, Chobit and others, though actually each of them also have different artwork..
but first time i draw with XXXholi artwork,some of my friend (at senior high) laugh at me because the long-leged, but i just try my best and i found my way now..
i still can draw it, as possible as i can..
and what u see now is my original work, inspired by CLAMP's XXXholic, that i learn about 4 or 5 years ago..

well, talk about dedicated~ xD and that statement you said there, "everyone has their own point of view about the meaning of FAN itself.." i can totally agree with that
to tell you the truth, i also based CLamps' artwork, also using the long limb style-though i kind of developed my own style thats quite different...
but anyways keep up the good work and i'll be looking forward to watching you and your works
