There's a reason Risk was supposed to stay in the barn... this is one of them. The thing attacking her is a lion dragon. They're vicious, aggressive, and attack anything that moves. They don't actually have to eat, (The world they live in doesn't necessarily follow natural laws) so they will pursue prey for much longer than other predators.
Most birds can mimic sounds to various extents. When stressed, Risk mimics the screams of the damned. I'm not good at expressing that visually, but whenever she makes noise, just imagine an awful nails-on-a-chalkboard demon screech.
