They were all over the place here a couple of years ago, practicing desert runs sometimes supersonic. A great photo from ground level. Are the making really that nearly invisible? I knew that they were supposed to be faint.

I assume you are referring to the wing insignia? Yes. Ideally there should be no markings anywhere on the aircraft that stand out strongly - this is supposed to be a stealth jet, after all.
Having said that, it gives me pause to wonder why they made an exception for the refueling probe guide mark on the top of the fuselage.

The refueling probe guide mark has to be east for the boom operator on the tanker to see. If the boom operator can't see the probe, there could be... unfortunate results.
