It’s been three days since your meeting with Aleister in the store. This evening you will be attending Lord Trancy’s masquerade and you hope that your new friend will be there. Your mother and father have decided that you will be going to the dance alone since they have to work late and you’re old enough to look after yourself. Besides, what could possibly happen at a party full of nobles? Never did you think that your parents would allow you to go off alone but the day has finally come. There are a few hours before the event so you are getting ready with the help of your family’s maid Diane; she’s been in service for the (l/n) family for about twenty years now so she is in her late forties. Even still she’s a wonderful listener and the two of you get along very well, the times you feel like you can talk to no one else she’s who you go to. Taking your dress out of the walk-in closet you admire how pretty it looks from the shimmering silk-like cloth to the fine stitching making you wonder how enchanting it will be to wear such a dress. Diane helps you with all the layers as she starts a conversation,
“Mistress (f/n), are you nervous at all about going to the party alone? This is the first time,” She comments sweetly while calmly tying the strings that lace up the back with delicacy.
“A little yes, although I do think some of my friends will be at the party,” you respond thinking of your charming friend Aleister a smile slipping onto your face that you are unaware of.
“Is that so? Or has someone finally caught our dear Mistress’ attention,” she replies with a knowing look on the face as she finishes the lacing, “Care to tell me who has your eye?”
“If I tell you, you have to promise not to judge him by what you’ve heard,” you sternly say considering how much talk there usually is but from what you can tell these rumors aren’t true.
“I promise,” she swears crossing her heart as she sits you in a chair to do your make-up.
“It’s Aleister Chamber the Viscount of Druitt,” you admit a slight blush gracing your features, he certainly made a good impression on you at least enough so that you’ve developed a crush.
“Well he certainly is a handsome gentleman and is very nice to others,” she comments obviously holding back the warnings she most likely wants to scream at you for even considering being around Aleister.
“He really isn’t as bad as everyone thinks he is, if they just got to know him then maybe they would see is too,” you insist wanting Diane to approve as you give her a pout.
“I’m too old to fall for that trick but I see what you’re saying,” she sighs not in resignation instead in complacency for she knows there is no convincing you.
“Thank you, for at least not reacting like Henry,” you smile happy with what you can get from Diane; these things do take time after all.
Diane finishes your make-up starting on your hair now simply to make it shine and to attempt the hairstyle you asked of her. While she concentrates on that you think about the possible things that can happen during the time you’re at the party, one is what if Aleister is not there? Another is what if he ends up being surrounded by other girls and you can’t see him? Then there’s what if Aleister was simply being friendly towards you and you misinterpreted his actions as flirting with you. Immediately you dismiss that thought both parts because you don’t want to accept it and he wouldn’t have kissed your cheek if that was true. Mentally you scoff at yourself a little for allowing thoughts of Aleister to run rampant in your mind. Maybe it’s because of how little experience you have with the subject of love, certainly you are not in love, however, you could see yourself falling for him over time. Currently, you are caught up in the alluring feeling of mystery Aleister holds, for now. It might change at the party, everyone could be right or you could prove them all wrong, that is of course, if he’s there but you have a feeling that he will be. As you’re lost in thought Diane tells you she’s done and holds a mirror behind your head so you can see the back of your hair in the mirror in front of you. When you don’t respond she shakes your shoulder a bit while saying your name,
“Oh, I’m sorry Diane, I was just thinking about the party,” you smile telling half of the truth making it believable.
“Careful dear, with a smile that beautiful Lord Trancy himself might even ask after you,” she teases lightheartedly, smiling as well.
“I’d prefer if he didn’t. Lord Trancy is a bit young for me,” you distastefully grimace at the thought, besides, he’s not exactly charming like Aleister, nor does it seem like he could care for someone else.
“No need to be snippy,” she laughs putting her hand on your should, “You should probably get down stairs, I’m sure Henry is waiting to take you to the party.”
“All right, thank you for everything Diane,” you smile at her sending a little wave as you leave the room, “I’ll see you later tonight.”
With that you leave the house, excitement flows through you as you hop into the carriage, ballroom dancing is something you quite enjoy.
Time skip brought by deadly silverware~
Arriving at the Trancy mansion you are greeted by a handsome butler who helps you down from the carriage before Henry can get down to do it. You thank him politely although you get a bad feeling from him and quickly depart from the area into the ballroom where other guests are already dancing to pretty music. Glancing around the room you see familiar face but none of which are the face you are looking for. Suddenly there’s a tap on your shoulder and you turn to see a butler and a boy who you recognize to be Ciel Phantomhive,
“Oh, good evening Lord Phantomhive, I’m sorry, am I in your way?” you greeting questioningly as you step off to the side just in case you were.
“No, I simply wanted to know if you saw Alois while you were looking over the crowd,” Ciel smiles lightly although it doesn’t seem genuine at all and his butler is making you feel a little on edge even though he is handsome.
“Very well, I saw him over to the left of the room talking with his maid, I presume at least,” you politely tell him before going to make your way onto the floor, “It was nice seeing you.”
“And you Lady (l/n),” he curtly replies swiftly making his way to Alois.
I wonder what his business is with Alois, you think to yourself while greeting people you know when a man around your age comes up to you asking if you would like to dance. Considering Aleister is not here you decide to dance with the man, he has dark brown hair and hazel eyes, much more normal then most of the people you’ve seen at this party. Either way he’s good at dancing, plus he’s good company for talking.
“These things are always so boring, don’t you agree my Lady?” the man asks smiling seeming as though he doesn’t like all the formal things about parties.
“Actually, I quite enjoy coming to them. Only because I can dance the night away,” you comment smiling as well hoping that you didn’t offend the man.
“Is that so?” he questions seeming a little surprised at this, “You’re quite the mystery, my dear.”
“Perhaps it’s simply that you assume much about me,” you state no longer really liking where this conversation is going, if only Aleister were here to save you from this dolt.
“I’m sorry, I’ve met a lot of people and can usually tell what they’re like,” he laughs a bit still trying to be social while the two of you dance across the floor.
Your thoughts drift back to the blond you were hoping to see tonight, surely you could recognize him even though everyone is wearing masks. Some have half masks, others have full, you yourself have a half mask that goes over your eyes. Then you notice the man is waiting for you to respond but just as you’re going to say something another voice answers, one that you’ve been waiting to hear.
“You should try getting to know them first,” Aleister chimes in smoothly then inquires towards the man while holding your gaze, “Do you mind if I cut in?”
“Of course, I might have to come take her from you later though I enjoy her company,” he states smiling at you kindly before taking his leave.
“You look marvelous, Lady (l/n),” Aleister whispers in your ear then sweeps you into a waltz smiling sweetly.
“Thank you, I’m glad you came, you saved me from dancing with that man,” you comment relaxing a bit.
“Glad to know I could help a damsel in distress, I promise I won’t let him take you away again,” he states seriously appearing as though he was somewhat jealous of the other man and you missed the glare he sent to him.
“So what brings you to this party?” you inquire getting away from the first topic.
“Alois is my cousin and a pretty little robin told me she would be here tonight,” he answers staring into your (e/c) eyes softly as a slow song starts to play.
The two of you step closer to each other, you blush at the closeness and he seems perfectly fine with it, this makes you feel a little less flustered. Having his arms wrapped around you is comforting in the sense of safety it brings, his gaze on the other hand just makes you want to melt, those lavender eyes give the impression that they can see everything about you yet accept it anyway. How could such nasty rumors be spread about such a caring guy?
“Don’t worry my little robin, I won’t do anything bad,” he playfully jokes winking as he takes in your blushing face.
“Stop it, you’re going to make my whole face red,” you plead quietly pouting a bit.
“My apologies,” he gives in as the song comes to an end, “Why don’t we step outside for a moment?”
“That sounds good, it’s getting warm in here,” you agree walking with him to the patio area.
By now the stars are out glittering across the sky. The beauty of it distracts you from your current companion, both of you enjoying the quiet night; the moon is out lighting the garden, and some couples walk by. What if Aleister and I were a couple? You ponder the question, it wouldn’t be a bad thing and all he would have to do is ask, then it would be nothing but courting each other over the next few months. Although with the way you both talk already others would think you two were a couple. A cold wind blows causing you to shiver and rub your hands over your arms just before a white jacket is placed on your shoulders.
“Do you want to go back inside?” Aleister asks softly as he faces you pushing back a strand that fell into your face.
“No, I’m all right,” you assure smiling at him.
“Are you sure?” he questions as another wind blows.
“Yes, I like being out here with you and I don’t want that man to ask me to dance again,” you state lightly turning your attention to his lovely eyes.
“Ah yes, him. I’d rather he didn’t ask either but you are a beautiful woman,” he chuckles to make light of his comment.
“I suppose that’s why my father wants to marry me off to someone, I get to choose who however,” you sigh not really wanting to get married at this point in your life but it just might prove inevitable.
“He has suitors lined up for your hand?” Aleister inquires trying to seem like he isn’t too interested yet fails.
“Probably but he won’t tell me a thing, he’s most likely waiting until my next birthday,” you admit since it’s just so easy to talk to Aleister at least more so than your father.
“Then why not enjoy the time you have now? Worry about your would be suitors later. Care to dance with me again?” he smiles bringing you to the dance floor.
For hours the two of you dance uninterrupted by others and completely absorbed in a world of music, dancing, and the feeling of never wanting to leave. The whole evening seems like a fairy tale, if this is how things are going to be every time you’re around Aleister then maybe you should see him more often. The very thought makes you happy and you blush a bit but it’s not very noticeable due to the dancing which you were thankful for. Sooner than you would have liked the clock chimes midnight, so much for staying in wonderland, now you’ll have to say good-bye and who knows when Aleister and yourself will meet again. The prince of a man before you takes off his mask showing his bittersweet smile, happy because he can now view your face in its entirety yet sad since it is the end of the evening. He gently slips the mask from your head making sure not to mess up your hair or make-up,
“Such a lovely sight,” he murmurs holding your gaze before taking your arm to lead you to the front doors where the carriages wait.
“The night went by so fast,” you say leaning your head on his shoulder though you know you probably shouldn’t but he doesn’t seem to mind at all.
“You know, I meant it when I said that you should come to my house,” he remarks upon the sighting of your carriage as you two calmly make your way there.
“Perhaps I could visit you next week,” you reply after a moment of thought lifting your head even though you are kind of tired.
“That would be marvelous!” Aleister exclaims grinning as both of you reach the carriage, “If we keep having such wonderful evenings together I just might have to go see your father.”
“You mean…” you gasp as your eyes widen from the news but Aleister silences you with a sweet kiss.
The gentle caress of his lips on yours left you wanting more when he backs away holding out his hand to help you get into the carriage. At first you hesitate glancing at his lips but decide to be more of a lady and just take his hand.
“Until we meet again,” he beams slightly bowing to you in good-bye.
“Good night,” you reply as the door shuts and you place a hand on your chest feeling your heart beat as though you had just sprinted a long distance.

Thank you, I'm glad that you like it. I figured I would show a softer side of Aleister since he's usually portrayed as a pervert but I think there's more to him than that.
