Description
It's an old illustration of mine
I wanted to try some digital skills .
Now you can compare traditional & digital feelings between this and the old original one --> [link]

Really neat! I love the colors <3 I think the other version has a bit more soul to it, but they are both nice. ^_^

thank you, and well I haven't published any individual book yet but I've done some illustrations for a local magazine... and let me ask you a question
when the "youth issue" of you're FLAUNT magazine is coming out, i seriousley want to know that ...

otter1 In reply to arghavan [2006-05-30 18:43:59 +0000 UTC]
they are acutally working on the youth/forward issue as we speak... i no longer work in the design department at the magazine but you should email the art department for which i will send you a private message with a few images of your work and just tell them you think your work might be suited for the youth/forward issue. i can't promise anything, as i said i've always been a fan of your work but i think the art director is very very picky and i'm not sure he is sold on your style. You should still try to email them though.

Love the shading style you used. Reminds me a bit of my own style.

I remain faithfull to the traditional medium... which in my opinion, is more art. Digital is more commercial.

exactly! I DO agree with what you've said

it depens by the use of it... traditional is art, but digital works better for cups, t-shirts, bags and... printed stuff

this one has a cold, cosmetic feel to it...which is pretty cool too. nice to see something different from you. You used the gradient well, i'm usually not a fan of gradients, but this looks good

two very nice looks for the drawing.. i cant say i like one more than the other.. i think thats just a matter of personal taste.
great job with the digital colouring tho. the pencil crayons look so round i feel like i can pick them up.

I'm starting to work with digital techniques too ...
and I think this is a really good job . the hardest thing, for me, is find my own identity (which is clear in the traditional pieces) in the digital art
.

It's very polished, very clean. No smudges anywhere... I'm not too sure if I like it! But it's cute, & would look good as a greeting card or illustration in a picture book.

Yeah... you did an excellent job on this, couldn't be better. But you do such beautiful things with watercolor that if you ever decided to start doing this instead and give up watercolors altogether, I would be very sad. I love the old version of this piece. The digital version almost highlights all the things I love about your work, by being unable to mimic them. Stillβwhen there's no direct comparison involved, I bet you'll do lovely digital works that wouldn't have been right in any other medium.

I prefer the "original" one since I think your paintings are so unique. I love the full views because you can see and *feel* the structure of the paper.

nice idea you have... and yeah I prefer traditional works too , these are things just to learn how to work with softwares

that's my opinion, too.
If I could draw as well as you and if the paintings weren't as large as they are, I'd upload them, too.
