Description
Cosplayer: MePhotographer:
Captain Morgan pose, Mando style!
For those who are unfamiliar with this costume, this is a custom set of Mandalorian armor I built pretty much from the ground up, with a lot of help from my cosplay group, of course! I plan on using this costume to apply for official membership with the Mandalorian Mercenaries Costume Club once I get some of the kinks worked out and some things readjusted.
I was so excited to wear this costume for two out of the three days we spent at Metro, I haven't been really able to wear it since Megacon because we completely redid my vest.

Glad to hear that! What do you like most about it, if I may pry?

It's very sleek, I like the subtle touches to the helmet, like the "fangs" at the T-visor. I like what you did at the range finder, with the shape, but I would try to incorporate something else there for the range finder-it is kind of a big part of the helmet. The painting looks great from the photos as well. Give i the feel of real armor...a lot of times I see Mandalorian armor people made, but they do a little too much, think you held right with the non armor pieces.

Thanks for all of that! I'm really glad you like the fangs, that was a big thing for me, and I plan on doing a bit more with the antenna eventually. I'm proud with the finish on the armor, I do need to go in and tatter up my kama and scarf a bit though.

Well dude, you have done your armor proud. Have you read any of the books out of curiosity? I think it was in Legacy of the Force when Jacen Solo turns to the Darkside it gives some awesome insight in the Mandalorians.

I've read some of the books, not nearly as many as I should though. I have yet to touch any of the Legacy of the Force stuff, though I desperately need to. I did read all of the Republic Commando books by Karen Traviss though, those are golden.

I know! I was so looking forward to seeing how the Republic Commando series wrapped up! That being said, she's doing excellent Halo Novels now, and I can't say I'm not excited about those.

Ah, well, I am a PS3 guy myself. Never much got into Halo, though I am looking forward to Destiny. Interested to see what that it's all about.

I've been enjoying my 360, but my fiance has a PS3 should I ever desperately need to play an exclusive, like the Last of Us.

The Last of Us was a great game, I STILL expected more, but great none-the-less. One game you can get cheap, Heavy Rain, is MARVELOUS. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I've heard bits and pieces about it, but I'm not really too interested in it. The Last of Us was amazing though.

I dunno...was like playing an episode of like Criminal minds or something...I had a lot of fun with it.
Last of Us pissed me off when you were with the bomb guy and he said you had to "sneak" to the the school and he went in guns blazing and started yelling at me, I was like WTF?! lol

I probably spent the better part of a year putting it together, but that's with a couple long breaks of not working on it, plus it was a learning process, and I was taking it slow. My keyblade armor used most of the same techniques and materials, and I threw together two suits of that in like a month, so when I go around to making my next Mando kit it shouldn't take nearly as long.

Thanks again bro! We actually had a couple pictures of me jumping off of that beam, but we stopped after the chock of landing cracked one of my shin plates XD. Don't worry though, it was a simple fix!

Maaaybeeee. I'd have to look through them all, I think we had a couple of potential shots but we haven't touched any of them up yet. If I find a good one I'll make sure to post it here.

Awesome, cause I am trying to think of some good action poses to go with as well.

Action poses with your kit you mean? I'd honestly look up some martial arts poses if you're going to be using your vibro blades. Also, a lot of anime has ridiculous but cool poses to watch out for as well. Just make sure to use your legs as well as your arms, if you don't have a bent knee, you're not doing it right!

Thanks buddy, I think the martial art poses would help me since I am a martial artist myself. Β Thank you for the tips.

No kidding, what do you study? I almost made my way to a black belt in karate before I had to leave in highschool, I still practice occasionally though.

I took Tai Kwan Do, Philippean style karate, Kali martial arts (which is a form of Jeet Kun Do), Gojo Ryu, and I also do Tai'Chi. Β What did you study

Oh wow, you're pretty well versed then! I only studied a form of Okinawan Karate, I can't recall the exact name unfortunately.
