Vision : Roots is an incredible capture of the wonder of nature. While most people know that a root system can grow very deep, most people don't ever really understand how deep into the ground a root system grows. It appears in the shot that the roots grow as deep as the trees are tall and it gives them a larger than life feeling. I love that they grasp each bump and curve as they grow downward into the earth and intermingle wildly the way only something natural can do. This really shows the power and age of the tree and to me seems almost more beautiful that the part we usually see because its so rare to see it displayed. [ Almost like how an iceberg hides much of its mass beneath the ocean ].

Technically, I feel like the angle you've taken the shot from works well and gives a good since of size and length. Also, the color palette is lovely with all the rich natural colors that compliment each other so well. I feel like if you had enhanced the blue of the sky and maybe the green of the tree's just slightly the rich earthy tones surrounding the roots might be a bit more vivid.

The Crop is nice and your artist stamp isn't at all distracting which is nice. I also appreciate the artists note's on the piece, as it seems that so many people don't ever put anything or rather anything relevant there that helps the piece become more well rounded. Nice piece.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write this.

I like the iceberg analogy. I hadn't thought of that before, but you're right.

Yes, I did some minor color adjustments after the tonemapping, and boosting the blue tones a little was one of them.

I agree with what you said about many people not writing anything in the deviation description. It always gives me the impression that they're not interested in making contact with those who view their pictures.

<333 thanks for getting back to me as well. When I saw it for whatever reason the iceberg thing is the first thing that came to mind.

And yes, as far as notes go - It seems like people not only don't want to make contact but that they don't follow through with a full thought and idea about their work. While I feel some pieces are left open ended for a reason good notes ties them together into a more well balanced piece.
