HIGH CONTRAST!petticoat - gown - cloak
proper name TBC
Designed for Lolani Organa, senator for Naboo.
okay, so this is here basically to show off the design, and I'd like some input before I go through and fineline this all... to finish off my favourite design I've made.
When I get adobe illustrator on my home computer, I'll be able to do essentially what I've done for my school uniforms.
Can't wait...

What colours are you thinking?
All I will say is- check your overlapping.
Parts of previous layers, according to your diagrams, should be visible in the next layer- make sure you include them as they will affect the overall look of the ensemble. (I am a nitpick I know) XD

Not sure about the colours yet, I've mainly been focusing on fabrics.
The overlap is supposed to happen at the neckline of the gown, where you see the petticoat underneath. Oh, and the gown sleeves are allowed to peep out a bit from the cloak... is that the only place you can see it?

I'm modelling the colour scheme on Lolani's favourites and personality, which are essentially similar. She generally attracts soft, 'sunset' colours- Naboo sunset, really.
I'm thinking a range of soft greys for the petticoat; cornflower blue for the top part of the gown, gentle blue for sleeves/skirt, cloud-grey accents; and crisp white with cornflower blue sashes on the coat. (I've been staring at Derwents. Can you tell?)
This is just a rough idea- what do you think?

Musk I think would bring it together nicely, and I could also suggest some bronze bias binding (thin decor) just for a little more delicacy and beauty?

Bronze isn't a colour that really fits the scheme, but I could find something that works the same way, like a deeper musk, or dusky violet? (again with the derwents, haha)

If you're talking about aesthetically- then trust me, bronze will work. If you're talking Lolanilly then ok
And If you want some detail that makes it more feminine and delicate then it's going to have to be something that really pops- like a metallic element. Might silver be better?

And by that token, metallics not really either... maybe having white there will give a similar effect? (Curses to Lo's colour scheme, and Cheers to you for all this consultation, btw...)
