Description
After some fail attempts on drawings yesterday I got something!I wanted to draw something different so I decided to draw a Tapir, the warrior Idea came a bit later. Tapir isn't really one of my fav animals but I think it was a good idea to draw one.
Also I've tried to do some practice with watercolors on it, I think I need to envolve a bit with it, because I love watercolors and I've been feeling it isnt really good as it could be.
Done with colored pencils for the outlines and colored with watercolors.

Love that you're working with an uncommon animal--I REALLY love how this turned out!

This is really awesome. It's great to see anthro work of under-appreciated animals. I love the tapir's body markings and accessories, especially the decorated shoulder pad and earring. The color scheme of browns, red-browns, greens, and warm yellows, together with the spear-like weapon (tlacochtli?), really makes me think of South American jungles. I would NOT want to run into this guy when he's in a bad mood, that's for sure.
As far as the technique, I think the colored pencil outlines have good points and bad points. The fact that the outlines are colored is good, because it makes the color harmony look better without harsh black lines sticking out. The smoothness of ink looks a little more professional than rough colored pencil texture, though. Looks fine as it is, of course. And I love the way the background looks, with good implications of dense jungle foliage without too many details to distract from the tapir.
Great job!

Thank you very much
And yup it's based on the tlacochtli, I have seen a documentary once and I have this habit of represent things on my drawings based on the real ones. I wouldn't like to run into him too XD
