Using GPU rendering iRay is pretty fast.  This was prob no longer than 15 or 20 minutes using a GTX 1060 card.

The BG is not a rendered environment, just a still image.  If it was a full environment, this would take much, longer to render.

That should be my problem, I'm using my GPU. My card is an AMD A6

Yeah.  iRay uses the Cuda cores of Nvidia graphics cards.  Even a slightly older card, like a GTX 960, will render faster with GPU only selected.
