Description
Venice114 AA
A group consisting of prominent scientists and researchers calling themselves “the Society” is conducting the first terraforming project. A massive construction takes place at Boreas, a big gas giant, fourth planet from the central sun. Space stations are being constructed and harvesting facilities are built on the big rocks in the asteroid belt beyond Boreas. Some of them are attacked by the presence called “The Threat”. A safe border is drawn and asteroid harvesting is only allowed within that border. An armada of ships travels with material from the asteroid field to the Orion- sized prospect moon “Oreithyia” in orbit around Boreas. The moon is completely covered with water and has indigenous primitive life swimming in the moon's wide ocean.
116 AA
The atmosphere on the moon Oreithyia is being altered to fit humans. A vast number of space stations orbiting the planet are releasing a biochemical compound into the atmosphere. The process accidentally kills 40% of the creatures in the ocean. The first town, “Venetia”, is built. The big island rests on pillars anchored to underwater mountaintops. The moon becomes known as “Venice”.
162 AA
The new capitol “Core” is being built. The four-island town is located almost on the opposite side of the moon from Venetia. In a way it separated the upper class and the working class. A lot of attention has been put in Core while Venetia has been put aside.
Venice has a rich culture and cutting edge technology.
Government rule: Parliament. The prime minister has the executive control. The Venetian Security Command stands above the Venetian Navy which in turns stands above the Military Police.
Boreas created and rendered in Vue. Venice and additional moons created in Photoshop. Venetian Command ship made in Hexagon. Material and render in Vue. Composition and postwork in Photoshop.

Risky choice making space not so dark. But it WORKS! Very nice "classic" vintage space adventure motive.

This is like something straight out of "Eve Online" Amazing work Björn, I find myself wondering how these planets (theoretically) could exist so close to one another, rotations of their sun and whatnot, would have to be in perfect sync. Wouldn't it be cool to just step into your story and wander around on these planets? Oh wait, you guys are already doing it! :-P

Awesome Bjorn! I love your "moonscape" images! hehe This turned out so well. I really like the depth you achieved so the image totally looks 3D. Your planets are so pretty and the cool ship you designed in Hexagon makes the viewer seem as if they were really traveling to these planets. I enjoyed reading the background info too. Your ES world continues to evolve and grow! Fantastic work sweetie!

awesome work! man, you should probably be making a million of this lol. with your story lines and awesome renderings hand in hand, the creativity is just phenomenal. also seems you got hexagon pretty well under your control. i've only heard of it, never even looked into it, but seems it can do a pretty nice job for modeling based on all the awesome creations you've come up with. great job again!

What you do to spheres and light points amazes me to no end as you bring the scene to life with your golden touch. I definitely like the finish on this one which gave it such a believable appearance. Terrific work!

I love this scene! But then again, I love ALL your images! It's so beautiful and tranquil. The planet and moons are so lovely. I love the vintage-look you gave this. It's just awesome!
I want to be there on that ship!
