Description
After finding the Marvel Legends 2-Packs, I was finally able to start on my next customizing project. Col. America was a simple resculpt of the head to reflect his rather humorous predicament from the Zombies mini-series. I dremelled off the mouth and part of his head and sculpted the new mouth and exposed brain. The paints are a blend of Testors acrylics, and Apple Barrel neon green to show of the rotting juices.Col. America is (c) Marvel Enterprises

Marvel Zombies is easily one of the best concepts to come out of Marvel in the last few years!

I loved that part in the comic. "I get double rations!"
You did an awesome job of resculpting the head, and the bright green juices... lol... why green? Was gray too bland?

With the way the coloring came out in the book, I just though black blood was a little boring. I wanted something vibrant to come out of what I was doing. All of the Zombies customs I've made so far have a similar styling.

Alas, he has already sold. I struck a deal with the owner of a local comic shop in town. In exchange for a complete set of ML series 13, I make the Zombies team for him to display. It's working out to be a sweet deal so far

Strange - I've seen a Colonel America custom today, but it didn't seem to look like this.

Yah, you're thinking of Shamrocks, where he used the old Hobgoblin figure for the base.

Last summer, Marvel hyped what was initially thought to be a cross-over between the "original" Marvel Universe and the newer "Ultimates" universe which houses modern re-tellings of old characters. It was half true. The universe that the Ultimate Fantastic Four went was a lot like the one readers were familiar with, but the difference was the super-human populace had been infected with some alien bacteria (think the G-Virus from resident). The only known super-powered individual that had not been turned in that reality was Magneto, who helped the Ultimate F4 escape the reality, and seal up the portal that they had opened that would've inadvertantly let these monstrosities free.
The storyline was so popular that Marvel decided to make a mini-series based solely on that universe. The story mostly followed a handful of super-heroes who had been infected, with Captain (or in this case, Colonel) America as their leader. After Magneto shut down the dimensional gate, he tried retreating to Asteroid M, which he had discovered at the beginning of issue one still had some of his Acolytes surviving on the skyhook. He was ripped to shreds by the zombies, but not before he used "Colonel" America's own sheild against him to lob off the top of his head.
Any more questions? ^___^
