Description

What do you see when you look at the infinity of the starry sky? Just billions of twinkling lights scattered across the black sky every night, or something else?

There seems to be something else.

The feeling of something new, something old at the same time, exciting your young soul. So close, so dear, but so unattainable. A strange feeling of insignificance and at the same time something incomprehensible that gives you serenity. It's like you've grown wings. It seems so simple - just reach out and scoop up a piece of the starry sky, take it with you, so that later you can check whether this is really happening to you now or is it just an unusual dream.

But you just stare at the brightest twinkle in the sky and feel something completely new in your soul. Something so ... unusual that a slight fear runs faintly down your spine.

Is it really just a black sky strewn with stars - no, it's not for you anymore. You're still not sure about this, but something tells you the answer. But you still want to make sure that this is actually happening to you.

Dee-Dee shook her head and turned her gaze to the left, again peering into another flickering spark that had a bright green color.

For her such a young age, and such philosophical thoughts in her head and such sensations are not just something new, but she absolutely could not help herself: these thoughts themselves came and went away as soon as she looked up and thought about them again.

It would seem, that just stars, what can be special about them? Even the small projector in her and dizzy's shared room didn't cause such a feeling. They were just colored lights that lit up the room beautifully. But now she could not understand anything, peering into the real starry sky.

She was practically motionless and with her mouth open had been sitting here for 10 minutes, peering at every point in the night sky. DeeDee was too young for such reflections, at her age she was just playing, have fun, run and jump, and not thinking about the eternal, , staring at infinity, sitting on a sandy beach with the sound of the surf. But as soon as she looked up a little, her attention was immediately riveted to the stars. She even forgot that a few minutes ago she had to hide from Dolly, who this time arranged hide and seek before putting the puppies to bed.

...Dylan was the first to see DeeDee, sitting alone on the beach with her head held high. He, Dolly and Dizzy had canceled the game long ago and were restlessly searching the beach in search of their little sister. But his worried fear on his face almost instantly gave way to relief, as soon as he saw her.
- DeeDe, sister! There you are! - Dizzy overtook her brother and crashed into him.

Dolly, who was walking near, heard the voice and ran out to the others, still not understanding, how a simple hide and seek before going to bed could turn into a search and rescue operation.

- Hey, we've been looking for you for so long, and you decided to go fishing here – the dalmatian grinned and then added in bewilderment. – But what are you doing here?

Dizzy jumped up and was about to pounce on her sister in joy, when Dylan gently raised a paw and stopped her with gestures, and under Dolly's puzzled gaze, he only smiled enigmatically.

- Shh, don't bother her. - he whispered to the sisters. - She's busy.
- What can she do here alone? -  Dolly interrupted, looking at her younger sister in perplexity. - Just looking at the sky, seriosly? Dyl, you're the one with the space freak. It’s you who love to count the stars in the sky for hours, - she gently pushed him in the shoulder, - but not DeeDee.

Dylan just kept quiet and smiled, not moving.

- Wait, why are you looking at me like that? - Dolly whispered dejectedly. – No, no, no, don't say it's contagious. We don't need another nerd, who saw Mars in her dreams.

Dylan just grinned and shook his head.
- The stars aren't only Mars. It's not just science and it's not just the hobby of nerds, - he made a quote with his paws. - This is much more than you can imagine. And you, - he nodded towards Dolly, - you understand that. And she understood it.
- Don't call me a nerd, - Dolly frowned.
- I never said you were a botanist. - Dylan smiled wider. - Oh, come on. I know what you're thinking. And you know what it is, too. After all, why are you doing this - right, I know.

Dolly opened her mouth but did not say a word. She just looked away and fell silent.

- These aren't just dots in the sky for you, - Dylan added, watching his little victory in the argument.
- She's all right? - Dizzy patted her brother's paw uneasily, watching the strange conversation between her elders and glancing back at her best sister, who was sitting a short distance away. - I'm so worried.
- Of course, - Dylan smiled and patted the younger on the head. - She's fine, but don't bother her. I know what needs to be done.

With these words, he approached DeeDee, who paid no attention to their conversation, and sat down quietly beside her, knowing full well what was going on.

- Dylan? - DeeDee without looking called the elder after a few minutes of silence. - Tell me about the stars.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You know, I'll be honest. In fact, it was a request from a friend of mine (twitter.com/Alexseidalmati1 ) who wanted to implement it in his future animation.

But the small request just expanded and went in a completely different direction. With his permission, I changed and expanded the version, and now it is not at all similar to what he asked me for (I fulfilled the request as promised, but he allowed me to modify and expand).

I know, this little piece of history is far from ideal. I still have a lot to learn, so this is a story - a small prototype of something "less romantic", something ... different. The same goes for my style - I am constantly learning, looking and trying something new. I combine what I can and what I see. This is an experience, but I will not copy someone, I will just learn something new.

I tried to do something new and different, not quite in style. I wanted to try not only on Dylan and Dolly. But it is not for me to decide whether I succeeded or not. I just hope you enjoy it.

There's nothing like watching the stars at night. There is a seemingly endless number of them and they go far beyond what many comprehend. It's a fascinating experience for certain. As for the drawing itself, I like the concept of Dylan sharing his interest with his siblings. Dizzy and\or Dee Dee are fine choices for that. Dee Dee found an interest towards the stars on her own, but Dylan did guide her when she wanted to learn more. Your dalmatian drawings in general are all interesting though.
