Description
Finally finished this painting I've been working on for the past few days, and if you follow my Tumblr then you've seen my progress shots as I've been working on this. I forgot how much fun it is to draw Ark, and it feels good to get back to drawing my favorite feathered dragon. I realize that his hands and feet aren't blue like they are on the reference, and I think I'm going to slightly revamp his design to get rid of the blue markings on his hands and feet though I'm not 100% sure on that yet. This file is massive (4k x 2k px). I'm finally learning to work on larger canvases so that i can have a good printing quality should I ever decide to get these printed for personal use or for showing. Plus it's kind of fun to work on a bigger scale so I can get more detail in.
Anyway, enjoy!

This character is awesome 8D I really love the tan markings on his back and jaw :3 Also, if you want good printing quality, be sure to have your files at 300 dpi. If you're used to working small it may come as a shock, but that's the standard for good print resolution... plus you get the benefit of lots and lots of detail!

That's what I've heard. Believe it or not though I get pretty good prints at 100 dpi. I know it's not recommended, but it's working nicely so far for me |D; 300 is so overwhelmingly huge haha! Thanks for the tips c: <3

Even 72 dpi looks Ok, but if you want it to look great 300 is best dpi. I had to print a poster for school one time, and it was 24,000 pixels wide because it had to be at 300 dpi x.x But a regular sheet of paper is only 2550 x 3300 pixels at that resolution, so it's not too bad But yeah, I know, such massive canvases can be overwhelming x.x

Yeah I getcha. I normally print at 100 and set my dimensions to whatever the print size needs to be (for instance 18x24) and it comes out lookin' just like my painting
