the world makes sence now! I thought that everyone just did everything on the computer, but it is so difficult to draw using only a mouse especially small details. I used to be really good at it, but I could only draw cats and wolves and it was so much work to draw one pic. that I couldn't dream of doing more than one in a couple of days. Then my dad got a porn viras on the computer and had it wiped, I lost all my pics and gave up drawing on the computer...

Just something I've noticed.
Chibi Prussia has a crop. (Or had one.)
Sherlock Holmes from the 2010 BBC miniseries has a crop.
It might be interesting to see chibi Prussia as a consulting detective, with the long coat and the badass deductions, withβ¦I dunnoβ¦baby HRE as his Watson, in a cuddly jumper?
I'm not asking you to draw this.
I'm simply saying it might be interesting.

To be honest I believe it the art looks it's best right before you do the coloring (at least as I see it here).

I'm a little confused. How do you get the sketches?
I mean... When I scan something, it obviously picks up the background. I usually have to line art it if I want to color behind the sketches. How do you do that?
But other than that, I love how it's done. c: I love seeing how artists go about doing their work and this is amazing.
I always believe watching other artists... Learning how they draw helps me out in trying new techniques.

AHh yes well using photoshop I use the levels button to make the lines darker and the background whiter, then I make my pencil sketch layer set on "multiply" this makes it so you can put another layer under it and color underneath the sketch.

You make Germania look really hot. Like no kidding, he looks as young as he should look like I see Germania in his mid 20`s since he has such young kids, and every one either make him look like 30 or 40 and bulky and strong. I see Rome as young bulky and strong, but 'Mania, I think hes more quick witted, thin and agile. Thanks for doing him JUSTICE!!!! bhahahaha

I have to ask..how do you get the pencil-y lineart off of the background without it looking really messy and leaving white bits? I wanted to color something like that, but i can't figure it out. and lol, your just colors thing looks just like mine. so cute~
π: 0 β©: 1
Arkham-Insanity In reply to StudioGhibliRocks [2011-12-31 22:58:00 +0000 UTC]
well first using photoshop, I use the levels to raise the contrast between the pencil art and the white background, then I set the pencil art layer as "multiply" and then you can color and what not on a new layer underneath without worrying about the lines.
